What Color Is The Sky In Your World?

Watching Fox and Friends this morning I was taken to muse about the special world liberals live in. The editor of Punditmom was being interviewed on the show and one of the topics was whether the media was going overboard in talking about Sarah Palin’s family life. Her answer was slightly ambiguous but was a mix of downplaying the media frenzy and actually dismissing that it is happening.

This is curious considering that I went to her site and she has a post on the front page about the very issue, clearly acknowledging that the media is doing exactly what she was saying they were not. She even wrote a blog herself posing the question as to whether the pregnancy of Palin’s oldest daughter, Bristol, is fair game for discussion. Her thinking was that Sarah Palin’s support of abstinence only sex education makes the subject discussion worthy. I have an issue with this theory in that it feels that the left is saying that with Palin’s views, her daughters pregnancy is some sort of twisted Karma. This is not a legitimate point but instead is petty and mean spirited.

I realize that I have been attacking this site and I do not want to give that impression. I visited it and, truth be told, found little that I agreed with. With this said, I found it to be a well written site and some may find it worth visiting, especially mothers. The point here though is that she added credence to the argument that the left is being complicit with the vile attacks by the left leaning MSM. Listening to talk shows and perusing the internet, there is a lot of denial that these attacks are even happening. Additionally the denials tend to follow a pretty typical pattern. The person denies it is happening but then launches into a defense of why, if it were happening that is, it would be ok because…

Then we have this from Obama. ran a story about Obama backing off of his promise to end Bush’s “tax cuts for the wealthy”. story here

Democrat Barack Obama says he would delay rescinding President Bush’s tax cuts on wealthy Americans if he becomes the next president and the economy is in a recession, suggesting such an increase would further hurt the economy.

Am I the only one who is seeing this? He is saying, quite clearly, that his rescinding the tax cuts will hurt the economy. What the Hell. The obvious next question is, why would he do it then in the first place? I have to say this again just for my self because it’s not sinking in. He is proposing tax increases that he believes will damage the economy but will do it anyways. Something that is almost as ridiculous is that I get the impression that he is giving himself credit for being responsible because he is delaying the cuts. Further ridiculousness is that roughly half of the voters are buying this nonsense.

Finally we have possibly the best Orwellian quote I have ever heard. Mort Kondracke of the Beltway Boys on Fox News was talking about Obama’s economic policy. He called the policy “Redistributionist Economics”. We no longer have socialism, we now have redistributionism. George Orwell would be proud, this is newspeak at it’s finest. I don’t know about you but I would rather not have my meager wealth redistributed, I like it right were it’s at.

All of this leaves us with the original question for these people, what color is the sky in your world?

Taxes ALWAYS make things worse.

Unless, of course, you're a rich or well connected commie.

Isn't Kondracke becoming a little less liberal lately?
What about Chris Wallace on FOX? I can't figure him out. I think he used to sound far more liberal...??

The sky will be FALLING, no matter what color it is, if we get more taxes and if AMericans don't understand Obama can't pay for ANY of what he's proposing....without US$$$

Was it Fred Thompson who said "No, Obama isn't going to raise your taxes or threaten you at all IF you don't buy anything from a business in this country, don't HAVE a business in this country, if you don't realize they can't HIRE you if they're over taxed..or you don't pay for anything here in America..etcetc." Fantastic line, but it's been forgotten.

Well Chuck, some see the world thru colored glasses, or the chose to.
I tend to try and see it as clear as i can.
And without any blinders.
I'm sure you get my point.

Keeping with your sky-related question, the libs will tell you, with a straight face, that the sky is green & expect you to believe it. They will proceed to pound on the table & hurl invectives at you if you disagree. This is what we're up against.

As far as Obama goes, he'll say anything to get elected. Contradictions don't matter because he thinks we're all too stupid to think them through. This is what we're up against.

Brooke, The Dems are already floating the idea of doubling the gas tax and taxing oil companies. Say good-bye to $4 a gallon gas. Get smaller cars you say, what about the price of transporting everything we buy. This will break the economy to a screeching halt.

Z, He sort of has. I think he fashions himself a liberal but you listen to him and he's more of a moderate. I love the Fred Thompson quote, I heard it when he said it before but I can't remember it either.

DD2 some even chose to walk through life with their eyes closed.

Cube, We're seeing this right now with Obama. He has told his people the sky is green, they believe it, and attack any who see the sky as blue. The problem he is having is that we have a new ray of sunshine and more people are seeing the blue sky again.

Now Cube, that is as close to poetic as I get. lol

What's the difference between "redistributionism" and the violent carving up of capitalism?

I don't know either.

Papa, good dramatic effect. It's all in the eye of the beholder.

It's an interesting question Chuck. I will say this though, the double standards are rife in the media. On the evening news they showed clips of Barack and Michelle dancing on Ellen Degeneres show. Apart from them looking like old folks dancing to teenyboppers music, i didn't have any problem with that. but would the media not tear a Sarah Palin or McCain to pieces, mocking and laughing at them over the same thing?

"We no longer have socialism, we now have redistributionism."

I think Coulter wrote about this phenomenon with leftists/liberals, when Communism became a bad word, they went with socialism, then progressives, then they just hijacked the term liberal. This is what leftists have to do constantly, because the underlying message is always the same unpalatable, take from those who worked and give to those who didn't.

They've realised that enough folks out there are like small children, if you can distract them with fancy terms and lies, they'll be fooled for a while. So now they call it redistributionism, different name, same crap.

"..but I would rather not have my meager wealth redistributed.."

Hope you're in this for the long haul folks, because i guarantee you, till the day you die there will never ever be a shortage of people, no matter what they call themselves, who will insist that they know how to better spend the money you worked for.

The sky of everyone is going to be black if Obama gets into power. If he gets in, he's going to redistribute until there's almost nothing left and then when we're all scrabbling around for a crust of bread to eat, he'll have the Marxist, Orwellian control he craves.
Come on Sarah Palin and McCain. So much is riding a win by the good guys.
