Does Anyone Else Think This Is Weird?

Sometimes it's the stupid little things that catch our attention. What caught my eye was this story from Fox News.

The story is about Barack Obama getting his children a puppy for when they move into the White House.

Now I realize this story is not very relevant and, quite frankly, I really could care less if they get a dog. His children are small and dogs can be good pets. If the dog makes them happy, I am happy because I like to see children happy.

The thing that strikes me about this though is, why now? If his concern was his children's happiness, then why didn't he get them one before?

I can't help but thinking, hopeless cynic that I am, that he feels a need to get one because he is the President now. There is a long history of Presidents having dogs. One notable exception was the Clinton's having a cat but this was not that unusual if you think about it. It was no secret that Bill liked, oops, I try to keep this blog PG-13.

I can't help but think though that Obama getting his children a dog tells us something about him that is not very flattering.

I doubt I am breaking any new ground by saying that Obama is a cold calculating person who is essentially no substance, only style. He is nothing more than a fabrication of left wing power players, manufactured to run for the Presidency. He has no accomplishments in his short career to point to. He has no firm stance on anything other than pushing a far left socialistic agenda. Quite frankly, there is no there there.

I think his getting a dog is a way for him to appear Presidential. The perfect White House family. There is already talk of them being the new Camelot.

This would be laughable if people would stop and think what the Kennedy's stand for. They were all nothing more than adulterers, drunks, and at least two of them, murderers. One would be hard pressed to find a Kennedy without a substance abuse problem. They are effectively white trash with money.

Keep in mind though that the Democrats idolized Bill Clinton also, so I think it is easy to infer that these types of people are the ideals for the far left.

It would be nice if we could hope that Obama would attempt to appear Presidential by being a strong and decisive leader but I think it's clear that this is too much to hope for. So, on to plan B, get a dog and appear Presidential, at least 52% of the people in the country are stupid enough to buy anything.

Oh yes, those were really tough questions that they threw at him. Which one do you think was the really hardball one, the one about the puppies or the one about the little girls?
Talk about screening the questions!!

You gotta remember Chuck, Obama has a vast following of vacuous fools that he needs to keep entertained. So stupid irrelevant crap like this it trotted out to keep their tiny brains occupied. Just today i was reading that these fools actually run opinion polls on what the first lady is wearing. What next, are they going to start checking if their damn eye brows are aligned!

Yes, they really are that superficial.

Lets see, his girls asked him if they could have a dog, and he promised them a dog after the election...so he is keeping his promise.

Since he is NOT the president yet I think that it should be THE CURRENT PRESIDENT that is having a news conference and answering hard questions about the economy....but he is just holed up in the White House counting down the days till he gets out of town...

Considering we have had eight years of polls and opinions about the Bush's dog, then the Clinton's cat...and all the stories about Crawford and cutting bush....and all the focus on the wedding....

Its just a different president and first family but same ol' shit...

Christopher, thanks for stopping by. I already added you.

Greywolfe, thanks.

Frank, did you hear he didn't call on Fox. Good idea, make an enemy of the no. 1 cable news channel

MK, he's all smoke and mirrors

Tao, I tend to agree, I think it's all irrelevant. I did state I really didn't care if the kids got a dog, in fact I'm glad there dad finally agreed. I still stand by my original assertion that he is nothing but smoke and mirrors. His entire election is going to be little superficial little news stories like this by the media while they ignore the double digit unemployment rate and inflation.

Okay folks, this is the way it works: By purchasing a puppy, Obama creates a demand for more puppies. The higher the demand, the more puppies, the more puppies, the cheaper they are and even higher demand.

Also, more dog food; more flea collars, more dog biscuits, more brushes and combs, more puppy bath soap, and chewy things. Get it? It's creating an empire where none before existed! It's marvelous.

Now on the other side, there has to be a dog handler, someone to feed the dog (you can bet it won't be the first family that does it). And whatever goes in, comes out ... so we need a first poopy picker-upper, and this has to be good for at least $80K a year in the DC area; but I'm estimating this on the average sized dog's poop. Chihuahuas bring less money for this task, I'm told.

Now the picture is complete. Obama hasn't even taken office yet, and he's jolted our flagging economy. I hope you all feel better ... I sure do.

Mujstang, he's already given the economy quite a boost in gun sales from gun enthusiasts afraid they will lose the right to buy later.

Politics as a whole is nothing more than smoke and mirrors...

Thats true of both sides and everyone involved...

Every president has a dog..except the clintons...maybe they had a dog too...then we get pictures of them all running off to the helicopter and there is the damn dog...

Oh the media went soft on Obama...sure they did...they went after Palin..sure they did (AND THE CAMPAIGN SHOULD HAVE PLANNED FOR IT...and prepared palin for it....) Heck that is what the campaign staff does for a living...they run campaigns and they all know all the press people...its a small circle of people...the campaign picked the people to interview Palin and they worked out all the details....it is all smoke and mirrors...

They call each other and tell them what to talk about...what else is new....

But quit complaining about the media and find out who was running the media for the McCain/Palin campaign and make sure he is not hired in 2012...
