It's Baaack

We got our first real snow storm of the year, it's looks great here.

There was up to 8 inches of snow in the area, we got about 6.5 at our house. Several school districts were closed although I think this was a bit of an overreaction.

I, like a lot of people here, have a love-hate relationship with Winter. We genuinely do like the season and the snow, just maybe for not as long as we get it.

Word is that we could get a lot of snow this year, I'm all for it. Our property gets quite scenic when we get a lot of snow. It's especially beautiful when we have a good fresh blanket of snow and the sun shines on it.

We had this today when I drove into the city. The expressway was a tunnel of snow draped trees and the light was shining on them, it was a great drive. It was like something out of a movie.

These are a couple of pictures from my house, it will get better as the year goes on and I will share any good ones with you.

I'm really, really looking forward to snow pictures in your community, Chuck, since we don't get much here in LA!

Thanks so much for those...I can't imagine how gorgeous it is when the sun's got the snow sparkling! EnjoY!

Damn, that's cold Chuck. Extra snow this year eh, i have a feeling winters are going to be longer and colder in the future.

The more shrill the screaming from the global warming alarmists, the colder it's going to get. I just hope enough people have the brains to pick up on the craziness of it all.

we got a mere inch. Enough for the kids to play in, but very little.
and this is the weather I wanted to play football in on Thanksgiving

Chuck, you don't know snow overeaction. Here in SC if we get a mere dusting the locals run for the grocery store in panic mode, The schools close, and the blue haired old ladies all turn into Richard Petty trying to get home from the beauty parlor.

Six or seven inches and it's "Donner party" time.

Love the shot of the basketball rim.

Here in LA, people are complaining 'cause it's muggy outside.

A little snow around Christmas and I'm good for the year.

Part of me is jealous because that scenery looks like a beautiful winter wonderland.

The rest of me is doing a happy dance in my shorts and t-shirt weather here in Florida.

Mr. Z just put up a terrific piece on Venezuela and socialism and America..I hope you find time to come by.

And I hope you're warming UP there! We're 61 degrees today and I"m FREEZING!! (smile) But, it's true! It took me months to get over the thinner Paris blood when we moved back to LA and now I can't take the slightest cold!! But, your cold is SO pretty!!

We had a bit of sneet the other night, but not any real snow. Typically, real snow doesn't arrive here until January.

We're overdue for a good snowstorm. It's been over 10 years since a major one in the D.C. area.

MK, no global warmingnhere right now

Obob, our grounds completely covered. A little early for that

DD, you guys get some weather too

Larry, I have family in Arkansas, they are originally from Michigan. It's the same down there. They get a little dusting and they go out to shop, people think they're insane for being out on the roads.

Wordsmith, the hoop shot is cool, don't always get shots like that

Shoprat I like having until about the begining of March then I'm ready for Spring to suddenly begin.

Cube, I genuinely enjoy Winter but I will admit to a little jealousy

Z, on my way over now, just getting settled in after another fun day in the ER. It's 27 F and 18 F windchill here right now, there's snow forecast for everyday until next Tuesday.

AOW, this is the trick with the North. I would much rather have snow than ice. Ice is scary to drive on, snow I can get through with my 4 wheel drive.

We just got a skirmish. I was hoping for more. I wasn't ready to go back to work after the holiday. I miss living up north and having really good snows.

Chuck said...

Clay, thanks for stopping by. I never get to miss work because of snow, that's why I have 4 wheel drive.

Hi Chuck! It looks lovely! that said, I realize it is coming my way - great for Christmas - driving and the commute? another story!! I know that once the first snow falls, it may be April before I see my lawn again!
