Global Warming Not A Burning Issue For Public?

The Pew Research Center did a poll on the most important issues to the public. Turns out that, with the exception of Al Gore, global warming is not a major issue with the public.

In fact it ranked 20th, better known as dead last. Economy, jobs, and energy all rank much higher, all in the top six.

Polls can be notoriously inaccurate and an oversimplification of what the public really wants. With this said, you have to wonder how well the public will receive the inevitable push by Obama and Congress to pass legislation that will cause damage to the economy, cost jobs, and make energy either harder to obtain or considerably more costly. Only time will tell.

That's my favorite link to date this year. In HUFFINGTON, No less.."Gore lied to us"

What bothers me the most are two things:
We've got kids scared out of their wits by this blowhard who told them NYC was going to sink faster than Venice, Italy.

and....
Kyoto will FINISH us financially. And only boost the world's opinion (which Obama seems to share) that it's ALL AMERICA'S FAULT. (everything, not just the environment, of course)

Chuck..is r green a friend? What a great sketch of yoU! (i guess, not knowing what you REALLY look like !!)

Sadly the threat of Jihad is as underrated as the risk of global warming is overrated.

Not surprised at all that it ranked dead last. People know in their heart of hearts it is barbara streissand (b.s.).

Get ready to re-visit the Carter years...can't wait!

Leslie, I was thinking of the same thing

Daniel, Obama is like the love-child of Carter and Clinton

Not a burning issue for myself or most I know beyond the fact that it is clearly a tool the Left plans to use to help advance their overall agenda.

You know, in a way it's surprising; and in another way, it's not. Not sure how to explain it...but I get the impression that it's not a pressing issue and that there's growing cynicism and it's a source of jokes for some; yet, there's another segment around here in LA who talk about it the way people talk about recycling, being kind to the environment- things that are pushed onto school kids. So many school kids seem to have the scare pushed onto them.

RF, thanks for stopping by. I almost wonder if it's soemthing people pay lip service to but don't really put a lot faith into it.

Wordsmith, I think we could have an interesting phenomenom in which the science has disproved it but the generation growing up now believe in it because it has been shoved down their throats.

It's a little like homosexuality. I have yet to see definitive proof that it is genetic yet a lot of the public treats it as if this is the gospel truth.

I wish they would start predicting an ice age because then maybe it would warm up here!
