"There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call... The Twilight Zone!" - Rod Serling
Perusing the Fox News site this evening I get the definite feeling that I have slipped into the Twilight Zone.
First up this:
Immigrant Sex Offender May Be Released in North Carolina Untreated Due to Illegal Status
A high-risk, 18-year-old sex offender in North Carolina may soon be a free man — because he is an illegal immigrant and the state has determined it cannot pay to put him in a treatment facility.
The Guatemalan man, identified only as "D.G," was convicted of raping his 5-year-old handicapped cousin when he was 15. Despite recommendations by criminal psychologists that he be sent to a sex-offender treatment program, he wound up in a youth detention center instead.
But D.G. can stay in the center only until his 19th birthday — and with that day approaching, what happens next is anyone's guess.
...On Feb. 23, Petersen will take D.G.'s case to the North Carolina Supreme Court and argue again that D.G. should be committed to treatment. If her appeal is unsuccessful, D.G. will be released, from the development center untreated.
This has been going on for three years. Why the Hell was this man not deported the minute he was picked up? No due process. No presumption of innocence. In my mind the case was settled when it was determined he was an illegal. Pack him and any of his family that are here illegally and send their asses back home. Let Guatemala worry about treating his sexual deviancy.
Then we have this:
Arizona Rancher Who Stopped Illegal Immigrants at Border Now Fighting $32 Million Lawsuit
An Arizona man who has waged a 10-year campaign to stop a flood of illegal immigrants from crossing his property is being sued by 16 Mexican nationals — seeking $32 million in damages — who accuse him of conspiring to violate their civil rights when he stopped them at gunpoint on his ranch on the U.S.-Mexico border, the Washington Times reported Monday.
The rancher, Roger Barnett, 64, began rounding up illegal immigrants in 1998 and turning them over to the U.S. Border Patrol after they destroyed his property, killed his calves and broke into his home, the newspaper reported.
The lawsuit is based on a March 7, 2004, incident in a dry wash on the 22,000-acre ranch, when he approached a group of illegal immigrants while carrying a gun and accompanied by a large dog.
Attorneys for the immigrants — five women and 11 men who were trying to cross illegally into the United States — have accused Barnett of holding the group captive at gunpoint, threatening to turn his dog loose on them and saying he would shoot anyone who tried to escape.
His Cross Rail Ranch near Douglas, Ariz., is known by federal and county law enforcement authorities as "the avenue of choice" for immigrants seeking to enter the United States illegally, the newspaper reports
Where do you even start on this. Federal and county law enforcement authorities know his property is "the avenue of choice" for illegals. Are you getting this? They know where the illegals are coming in and still are not stopping them. Instead they are leaving this poor man to defend his property himself.
This is stunning.
This is like a bank robber sending the police a note saying he will rob the Fifth Second Bank at noon today and the police go to lunch instead of the bank. No wonder we have such porous borders, we have idiots running the Border Patrol.
Now the man is not only left to defend his own property, he is being sued for doing it.
Don't fear though, the Federal Government are not all fools. They are working tirelessly to keep us safe as evidenced by this story:
Schumer Calls for Ticketmaster Probe Over Suspicious Springsteen Sales
Sen. Charles Schumer wants to show Ticketmaster who's boss, after hundreds of Bruce Springsteen fans complained they were ripped off by the ticket seller's Web site.
Fans reported that when they tried to buy tickets for Springsteen's upcoming tour last Monday, they were redirected from the Ticketmaster site to a subsidiary, TicketsNow, which specializes in reselling tickets above face value.
Schumer, D-N.Y., on Sunday joined Rep. Bill Pascrell, D-N.J., in calling for the Federal Trade Commission to investigate.
Now don't get me wrong, this company should be investigating for ripping these people off. I just find it a little disturbing though that the Federal government immediately investigates when a political supporter's fans are being ripped off but cannot stop illegals coming across the border when they are given a map of their location or cannot deport a sex deviant who is sitting in kiddie jail.
Next stop, the Twilight Zone.
