It's A Good Time To Be A FOD

Matt Drudge went wild today on the Drudge Report listing several articles about Dems gone bad.

EXCLUSIVE: Senator's husband's firm cashes in on crisis

On the day the new Congress convened this year, Sen. Dianne Feinstein introduced legislation to route $25 billion in taxpayer money to a government agency that had just awarded her husband's real estate firm a lucrative contract to sell foreclosed properties at compensation rates higher than the industry norms.

Mrs. Feinstein's intervention on behalf of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. was unusual: the California Democrat isn't a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs with jurisdiction over FDIC; and the agency is supposed to operate from money it raises from bank-paid insurance payments - not direct federal dollars.

Sources: Wiretap Recorded Rep. Harman Promising to Intervene for AIPAC

Rep. Jane Harman , the California Democrat with a longtime involvement in intelligence issues, was overheard on an NSA wiretap telling a suspected Israeli agent that she would lobby the Justice Department reduce espionage-related charges against two officials of the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee, the most powerful pro-Israel organization in Washington.

Harman was recorded saying she would "waddle into" the AIPAC case "if you think it'll make a difference," according to two former senior national security officials familiar with the NSA transcript.

In exchange for Harman's help, the sources said, the suspected Israeli agent pledged to help lobby Nancy Pelosi , D-Calif., then-House minority leader, to appoint Harman chair of the Intelligence Committee after the 2006 elections, which the Democrats were heavily favored to win.

Seemingly wary of what she had just agreed to, according to an official who read the NSA transcript, Harman hung up after saying, "This conversation doesn't exist."

Murtha's Defense Earmarks Draw Questions

Spring in Washington is "earmark season" - a busy time for Congressman John Murtha.

"That's my business," Murtha said. "I've been in it for 35 years."

As head of a powerful Defense committee, Murtha controls hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars, reports CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson. And he's not shy about directing money to those who give generously to his election campaigns.

CBS News has learned that this month, Murtha is steering new earmarks toward 10 companies that recently donated to his campaign.

Murtha wants $8 million for Argon ST, a defense contractor whose CEO gave Murtha the maximum allowed by law - $2,400 by an individual. He's directing a $5 million earmark toward Advanced Acoustic Concepts, which also gave the max - $5,000 for a political action committee - to his campaign. In all, 10 recent Murtha donors are slated to receive $31 million in Murtha earmarks for 2010.

I have this going up at midnight..great minds again!

Isn't it ODD that all those Dems cheated on their taxes...? You think it's "ONLY CABINET OFFICIAL DEMOCRATS!?" Then there's this Feinstein story and WHO WILL LISTEN?

ANd, if/when FOX reports it, it'll be "THAT'S FAUX NEWS..RIDICULOUS", right?

We've got to fix the media.
Meanwhile, obama's CIA memo situation is being played around our heads and the enemy's licking his chops at the ridiculous disarray and revealing of important classified information....all because THE RIGHT SAID IT, IT CAN'T BE TRUE.

man, Chuck..SCARY times.

Hey now, republicans had there fair share of backscratching for six straight years, let the Dems get a piece :)

I think Flavor's right. The obamaholics that do get that their leaders are corrupt and immoral cheats simply don't care. They are represented just fine.

Z, I think I'm going to post on the CIA memos later. One of his securtiy experts is saying now that we got info from the interrogation methods. Idiots.

Flavor, two things

-The GOP was voted out for doing this

-They were replaced by Dems who were voted in because they promised they would never do stuff like this.

So of course we need to replace them with GOPers who say they will never do something like this.

DaBlade, I thin soem are starting to wake up, slooowly

Scandal after scandal and nothing ever changes. When will people wake up and vote these losers out of office?

Flavor Country said...

My point was not in support but to say the majority of politicians work in this way in both parties.....is sad but reality, no matter who we vote for.

Scandal and corruption is newsworthy only when sky God believing, gun toting Xenophobic conservatives are the perps.

Di Fi, Murtha and the like get a free pass because they are caring, feeling, "looking out for the little guy" liberals.

Somebody bring me a bucket!

Politicians from both sides of the spectrum may indulge in wayward profiteering, but it appears that those on the republican side end up paying for their crimes more often than those on the left.

Then again, maybe the democrats are just better at avoiding getting caught.

Kris, prob is we just get new ones that are sometimes worse

Flavor, I was agreeing with you

So of course we need to replace them with GOPers who say they will never do something like thisLarry, well put. Same as I said with Kris, the GOP didn't do much better

Cube, again, it's the media. Think this would get a lot of play on MSNBC? What if it were the GOP?

A fair about of sleaze there Chuck. And where's the media? Most of them are diligently ignoring it all, can't let their boy look bad can they.
