Quote Of The Week

"Let the facts be heard," they wrote. "These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views -- but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades."

Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer, 8/10/09

What's interesting about this, other than the blatant attempt to stifle free speech, is that the Speaker of the House has had a change of mind in the last few years.

"So I thank all of you who have spoken out for your courage, your point of view. All of it. Your advocacy is very American and very important."

Nancy Pelosi, 1/17/06

Now, the first quote is about critics of Obama's attempt to "reform" health care, the second quote is about protesters against George Bush and the Iraq war.

I realize the cynical among you are thinking this is hypocrisy but there has to be a more rational explanation. Right? What are your thoughts?

Um, not when dealing with leftists.

Chuck, hypocracy? How so very politically incorrect of you. Sigh. Looks like I will have to flag you...again. LOL.

Isn't it amazing how our words can come back to haunt us? But then, the libs are great at denial. This is why I compare them to children, who as many know, can break a rule or do something bad right in front of you and deny it outright...and expect you to believe them. Amazing.

Even in this world of technology, where every statement is recorded in some legitimate form, they still will lie, contradict themselves, and pretend they never said anything wrong.

AOW, you don't think she was being unfair do you.

Always right, thanks

Leslie, flag me all you want, I'll never change. These people are so used to have the media cover for them they do not understand that their old words can come back to bite them.

Hypocrisy definitely plays a role, but more so does manipulation of historically uneducated, soundbyte folks.

Short attention spans + controlled language = propaganda.

Chuck, the hypocrisy never ends.
"POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!": Hillary Clinton. Unless they're "THOSE PEOPLE" ...

Here-here Always, the best i can say is hypocritical witch.

Brooke, sadly a fair percentage of our population gets their news from the fake news shows, The Colbert Report, Jon Stewart, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, etc

Z, remember when she stood on the Senate floor and held up a newspaper that said (erroneously as it turned out) "Bush lied", classless

MK, agreed

Exactly what "facts" are protesters preventing from being heard? Pelosi assumes they have no idea what's in this bill. WRONG!

This woman is clueless about her fellow Americans. I can only hope her days are numbered.

Chuck said...

Fairest, I believe as Speaker they are numbered and it is possible someone could challenge her in the primary

Leftists like to talk about rationalism but they don't even know what it means. The left has never been rational. This is quite understandable as most leftists quit growing mentally when they were in Kindergarten.
