House of Representatives Takes A Stand On Ethics

House Votes to Discipline Wilson for Outburst

"This is about the rules of this House and reprehensible conduct."

House Majority Whip James Clyburn, D-S.C.

Just to be clear, he was talking about reprimanding Joe Wilson (R, SC) for having the poor taste of pointing out that President Obama was being less than truthful in his speech last Wednesday night.

Now you can all sleep tight knowing that the Democrats in the House are looking out for the integrity of our federal government and keeping men like Joe Wilson under tight wraps.

It is nice to see that we have such ethical people looking out for us

Palin/Wilson (or reverse it) 2012

I'd like to see the House go through and reprimand all representatives who have booed, hissed or yelled out at presidents in speeches.

The downward spiral of disrespect has to stop. As I said in my bog post about Wilson's outburst, "this change needs to start with a leader. Know any good leaders who can start it? "

Great to see a frugal use of taxpayer dollars... UGH!

Shoprta, he certainly has re-assured his re-election

Randy, SOS Hillary Clinton stood on the Senate floor and held up a newspaper headline that said "Bush Lied". Fox ran clips of Democrats calling Bush a liar on the House floor.

MK, agreed

DaBlade, they don't have a good use of their time

So Charlie Rangle voted against Joe Wilson...Like I needed another reason not to like this guy!

I think I read there were also 12 Republicans who voted to censor him. They need to be remembered come their next election. We also need to clean out the scum on our side of the aisle.

What about the other Joe Wilson, who made a 2nd career out of lying about George W. Bush and speaking out in favor of the terrorists?

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. If anything, this will probably make Joe Wilson MORE popular, not less. These sorts of things tend to have a backlash.

And Wilson becomes an even bigger hero in my eyes.

I care, incredible hypocrisy right?

Gramma, I agree. I must say though that I do not agree with what he did. I agree with the sentiment that Obama was lying but even if Obama does not have respect for the presidency, others should. With that said, the GOP reps should not have voted for the resolution because it was a sham.

dmarks, he was a lib though, therefore he was doing his patrtiotic duty to oppose the evil Bush

Miss TC, it appears to be already doing just that

Nickie, agreed
