Those David Letterman Jokes Aren't As Funny Now Huh?

I've made it clear in the past that I thought David Letterman was an asshole and now he has gone and proven me right.

David Letterman Admits Affairs at Center of Extortion Arrest

Undoubtedly everyone remembers Letterman's creepy little pedophilia jokes about Sarah Palin's daughter about four months ago. Well, I guess he doesn't find all of that as funny now.

What a surprise. Letterman is a sexual predator, harasser, and pervert extraodinaire. Oh, and still not funny.

First thought that came to my mind was if he kept his pants zipped up, there would not be anyone trying to blackmail him. Funny how much a difference one little detail can make.

AOW, agreed

Gramma, I'm not losing a lot of sleep over his troubles

the thing that makes me lose sleep is how hilarious his audience found it. I have to admit I laughed when someone on FOX suggested "the audience must have been full of French tourists!"

One got the feeling ol' Dave was kind of thrilled sharing how VIRILE he is, which is all the more sickening.

He deserves disdain and, instead, the audience loves him more. That's the new America..THAT does cause me to lose sleep, I have to admit.

Chuck,

I'm not surprised at Letterman's revelation, considering he has shown himself to be crude, angry, childish and morally challenged.

Shocking and appalling to me was the reaction of the audience. Their laughter and applause displayed both the coarsening of our culture and the character of Letterman's audience.

Typical liberal morals.
What morals you say?
Right!

Liberal comics draw liberal audiences, no more no less.

Z and Gail, I think LomaAlta said it, birds of a feather...

He is being quickly forgiven by the Hollywood and New York elite.

Here's a man in a position of great power, using his status as an employer to prey on subordinate female employees.

He should be ashamed of himself, and everyone who is publicly defending him should be shunning him instead.

I'm hoping that at least one of them will come forward with a sexual harassment lawsuit. Perhaps they all will. There's strength in numbers.

I just have to believe that some of these women felt pressured to do "the deed" with him in order to get ahead or keep their jobs.

PCC, definitely could cost him some money

The extortionist should pay for his crime. Letterman deserves shame, and wouldn't be in this predicament in the first place, had he any morals and good sense. Anyone in the public light needs to understand that their personal transgresses are at risk for public exposure.

I don't feel sorry for him one iota.

I have. He's had some really funny moments in the past (before his BDS years). Makes it all the more difficult to watch any of it, now.

Wordsmith, agreed he gets what he deserves. As far as him never being funny, he had his moments but I have never been much of a fan

Another leftist exposed for what he really is, an asshole. If this had been a conservative, you'd never hear the end of it, but not for the left, it's business as usual.
