Obama's Go Slow Approach To Investigating Terrorism

Obama Urges Congress to Delay Fort Hood Investigation

President Obama on Saturday urged Congress to hold off on any investigation of the Fort Hood rampage until federal law enforcement and military authorities have completed their probes into the shootings at the Texas Army post, which left 13 people dead.

Obama wants Congress to hold off on investigating the latest terrorist attack on US soil. He wants to "go slow".

First, hasn't the intelligence community and the Justice Department already been investigating this man? Before the shooting? We are supposed to let them investigate now without any oversight? Seems what Congress is investigating is not the shooting but the fact that it should have been prevented.

Second, I'm not a professional investigator but don't you want to do it as soon as possible so the evidence is still fresh?

Unless of course you don't want to find out what happened. Maybe Obama is a little concerned of what they will find in the investigation.

One thing that has not been talked about so far in this case is that this is a new chapter for Obama. While there is some evidence the intelligence community was looking at Hasan as far back as December, the majority of the time line that has come out so far is that the botched intelligence happened almost entirely on Obama's watch.

I said earlier Congress will try to blame this on Bush, and I still believe it. Problem is, sometimes the facts get in the way.

This could be the first thing Obama has to take full and total responsibility for. This may be the first thing he and his administration cannot hide behind Bush on

We need to listen to him though, he has everything covered:

Obama already had ordered a review of all intelligence related to Hasan and whether the information was properly shared and acted upon within government agencies. Several members of Congress, particularly Michigan Rep. Peter Hoekstra, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, have also called for a full examination of what agencies knew about Hasan's contacts with a radical Muslim cleric in Yemen and others of concern to the U.S.

See, he's going to investigate himself. We'll find the truth out, no need to worry.

It's a normal leftist tactic, stall until it's off the front page then cover it up and pretend nothing much really happened. He knows what a proper investigation will uncover, that's why he doesn't want one.

It's what they've been doing from the beginning, i hate to say it but this will only change when there is a monstrous attack killing many thousands and the citizens of America rise up, take to the streets and start burning mosques and killing muslims, innocents and all.

For the love of humanity, i don't want that to happen, but we seem unwilling to take out the trash now, so i don't see any other eventuality.

ya know what Chuck, do yourself and your readers a big favor and LISTEN to President Obama, his own words, not pundits who think they know it all! The president spoke of this in his weekly address, I think you could look it up and listen to it tonight so you can retract your statements. It's only fair to be truthful, right???

MK, couldn't say it better. This is one issue that won't go away for him though

Sue, I can only assume you are joking.

What words should I listen too? "Let's not rush to judgement?" Who would rush to judgement on a man who tried to contact al qaeda, has a close association with an extremist Imam, has a business card that has Son of Allah on it, and then went and shot up an American military base? What is there to rush to judgement on?

For the record, I did listen to Obama after the terrorist attack. Of course it took him 2 minutes, a bunch of nonsense, and a greeting to a friend in the audience before the Son of a Bitch got around to acknowledging that 13 people had jsut been murdered by a terrorist on American soil.

You listen to him if you want. Me, I think he's retarded and anti-American. In other words, an absolute embarassment to the United States.

No, I will not be retracting my statements.

I think you're rushing to judgement, here.

We are making the ASSUMPTION that this guy might have had a gun and that the gun may have discharged (accidentally?) possibly killing and injuring some people who got in the way of the bullets. We are also jumping to the conclusion that he might have been a muslim.

What we do know for sure is that he was harassed and bothered by white anglos christians and that he was shot by a white police officer who was probably a Christian and who may or may not have had legal possession of her weapon.

Miss TC, it sure is tough being a Muslim terrorist in the US
