Fringe Media Bias On Display - Again

Comedy Central Scoops Network News on Climate-Gate Scandal

ABC didn't cover it. CBS didn't either. And NBC apparently wouldn't go near it.

The network news broadcasts have ignored a growing scandal over evidence of a potential climate cover-up — and now they've even been scooped by the fake news at Comedy Central.

"The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" produced its "reporting" on Climate-gate Tuesday night, when Stewart quipped, “Poor Al Gore. Global warming completely debunked via the very Internet you invented. Oh, oh, the irony!”

Stewart described leaked e-mails from Britain's University of East Anglia, including one referring to a researcher's "trick" to "hide the decline" in some temperature readings in recent decades.

"It's just scientist-speak for using a standard statistical technique — recalibrating data – in order to trick you," Stewart said sarcastically.

Nearly two weeks since news broke of the e-mail scandal, climate change skeptics have gloated; a leading climate scientist has resigned; at least one U.S. lawmaker has called for an investigation, and countless prominent news outlets have deemed the story worthy of major reporting.

I thought this was particularly funny:

“Poor Al Gore. Global warming completely debunked via the very Internet you invented. Oh, oh, the irony!”

The article goes on to mention this posting from the Media Research Center

12 Days, 3 Networks and No Mention of ClimateGate Scandal

It’s been nearly two weeks since a scandal shook many people’s faith in the scientists behind global warming alarmism. The scandal forced the University of East Anglia (UK) to divulge that it threw away raw temperature data and prompted the temporary resignation of Phil Jones of the university’s Climate Research Unit.

Despite that resignation and calls by a U.S. senator to investigate the matter, ABC, CBS and NBC morning and evening news programming has remained silent – not mentioning a word about the scandal since it broke on Nov. 20, even as world leaders including President Barack Obama prepare to meet in Copenhagen, Denmark next week to promote a pact to reduce greenhouse gases.

Can the fringe media get anymore embarrassing? They have now been scooped by Jon Stewart.

Who's the joke now?

They'd rather yap on and on about Tiger Woods's infidelity.

Yet another distraction from the real news.

What's probably worse is that Jon Stewart is ONE OF THEM! Stewart is unabashedly liberal. Very liberal. Very, very liberal.

The point is that even Jon Stewart thinks this is news and an important story. Yes, he chooses stories partially on the basis of how he can make the story funny. But he also chooses stories he thinks are important, because he can make just about any story "funny."

(BTW, I personally don't find Stewart all that funny, but that's probably because I can see through his humor and realize that a lot of is based on leftists stereotypes and beliefs).

The only mention I've seen of this story in the MSM is from the angle of punishing the hacker and not the content of the emails.

Now that Stewart has given legs to the hoax angle, there is no stuffing that genie back into the bottle.

AOW, there is irony that these news outlets are obsessed with this nonsense

TC, I occassionally find Stewart funny. I think the funniest thing here though is how he is embarrassing the MSM. I went to MSNBC to today to see if they were covering it yet, they have a story on their World page towards the bottom.

Cube, see Barbara Boxer. She wants to punish the hackers (which I would not be against) and ignore the scandal

And now the dimwit of the Senate, Barbara (Don't call me ma'am) Boxer, wants to investigate the leak of the e-mails as a "theft" or a "crime".

They are simply without any shame.

"Can the fringe media get anymore embarrassing?"

Wait till it's time for hussein o's bid for the 2nd term. Given that there is no longer a Bush to hate on and be angry with, the slimestream media are going to have to pull out some really special boot-polishing skills for their false-messiah.

Tom, we may be coming to the end of ma'ams career

MK, Obama has a mountain in front of him for the re-election campaign

Actually, this time I don't think it's your fault. Anonymous conservatives have gone viral with a severely edited version of John Stewart's presentation, cropped to take the bulk of it out, altered to show him saying the opposite of what he ended up with.

He can be found here, unaltered.

A refutation of your own article is here.

Sorry you were tricked.

Best wishes as always.

Burr, nothing is my fault and nothing is amiss here. If you click on the link I provided and then click on the link there for the video - it goes to Jon Stewarts site, at Comedy Central, not a faked video. My original assertion stands, Jon Stewart reported on this and the nets have not - now at day 15.

As far as your "refutation"

Seems nobody works very hard except those who inherit extreme wealth.

my original point stands. This tax is taking away money that was earned and giving it to people who have not earned it. It is socialism in action.

Thanks for stopping by

I will not acquiesce in on it. I think polite post. Especially the title attracted me to read the unscathed story.
