Does This Seem RIght To You?

Obama Endorses Deficit Task Force

I don't want to spend a lot of time on this because if you read the article it appears that it is likely dead on arrival. What I did find funny is the plan for the roll out. If you give Obama anything, give him his arrogance.

The bipartisan 18-member panel backed by Obama would study the issue for much of the year and, if 14 members agree, report a deficit reduction blueprint after the November elections that would be voted on before the new Congress convenes next year.

So, they want to spend the year looking at this, announce the findings after the elections, and vote on it before the new Congress is sworn-in in 2011?

Anyone else think there is a lot to worry about with this idea?

IMO, an attempt to save Dems' Congressional seats in 2010.

It would be filled with Obama math. Spend a $Trillion first, then "cut" it to $990 Billion the next fiscal year. What a spend thrift!

All designed to save democrat butts in November. It's all politics with BO all the time.

Agreed. I would almost hope that they would okay the commission so the public could see the details

All that effort for an elaborate charade.

I have heard that wheeling and dealing in the Whitehouse has removed educatin and environmental programs from the freeze.

Not much left to freeze there.

That's why it's very important to get out and work for candidates that will be committed to reverse as much of the damage as possible, when they take office. We need some serious candidates to step up to the plate and serve at least a term in the Senate and a couple/three in the House, to get this done. It's going to take drive and determination, but as we all saw in Mass, it can be done.

It's a bullshit stunt to fool voters into thinking that he's doing something about the deficit, sad thing is, many will actually fall for it.

Sorry all, funky work schedule lately. Thanks for being patient and stopping by

amazing amount of effort to get out of work

LomaAlta, I think the environment is going to have to wait. Obama may want to work on it but I bet it will be hard to get anyone in Congress to touch it

LA, it will interesting to see how the GOP does over the next 11 months

Z, agreed

MK, can always count on you to boil it down my friend
