Under The Bus Goes Congress

“Let's just clarify. I didn't make a bunch of deals [on health care]. ... There is a legislative process that is taking place in Congress and I am happy to own up to the fact that I have not changed Congress and how it operates the way I would have liked.”

Barack Obama

Even thought the most recent story is that Obama was going to take control of the process and not job it out to Congress.

So, I have a question:

Can anyone reading this come up with one example of Obama taking responsibility for anything in the last year?

He has not taken responsibility for the exploding federal deficit, a 2 point increase in the unemployment rate, worsening violence in Iraq or Afghanistan, the pantie bomber, the breakdown in intelligence that led to the Fort Hood terrorist attack, etc, etc.

Just one thing. Anything. Give me something.

BHO is incapable of accountability, except in a very minimal and backhanded manner.

When any accountability creeps in, he quickly turns blame to GWB or the the GOP opposition in general.

I sure can't think of one.

Did you notice that veiled threat to the Congress about using an executive order to get things done if they don't perform the way he wants?

I don't remember the exact wording. I'd have to go through the agonizing transcript.

AOW, dead on - he's incapable

Brooke, he sweemed to put SCOTUS on notice too. Bottom line is everyone is expected to fall in line

Actually obama did take responsibility on healthcare, he accepted that you Americans are really very stupid and sort of slow and that he did not take enough time to explain his brilliant healthcare plan to your collective dumbass.

Ok he didn't say it in those words, but we all know that's what he really thinks and that's really what he meant.

When's the next election, i'm looking forward to seeing his arrogant ass under that bus too.

All this goes to show that Obama is not the "uniter" he claimed to be during his campaign. Nor is he a "community organizer." Rather, he is an Alinsky agitator. As such, he is at his best when he has something to rail against.

What we saw in the SOTU address is Obama going back into campaign mode, and as such, he needs targets. Lots of them. Bush (again), the Republicans who don't have any of their own alternatives (pfft), Congress, who has a corrupt way of doing things, the Supreme Court, who doesn't know as much about the law as he does, Wall Street, K Street, the Banks, the car companies, and the American Voters who just don't get it.

As long as he appears to be The One fighting for Us, he thinks he can maintain or win back the support of enough voters to keep him in office.

What I'm having trouble figuring out is whether it is more important for Obama to maintain power, or more important to push his agenda despite the fact that it may cost political capitol. But, to be honest, I think that he really believes SO MUCH in his agenda that he thinks if he can just get it passed, he will come off as the hero.

BO doesn't have to be accountable for anything because he has gotten a pass all his life and expects one now.

Respect my authori-tay!

MK, we're saving room under the bus for a whole lot of congressmen and senators in November. In fact, some of the Dems are so despondant they are throwing themselves under already

TC, he had the stones to stand up in front of the GOP today and acuse them of not working with him on health care, after holding the closed door reconciliation meetings

Cube, I'll give him a pass - out the door
