Interesting Story

This is a story in which I am not sure what to think about it. I wanted to see what everyone else's thoughts were.

Army Investigates Alleged Attempt by Soldiers to Poison Food at Fort Jackson

The U.S. Army is investigating allegations that soldiers were attempting to poison the food supply at Fort Jackson in South Carolina.

The ongoing probe began two months ago, Chris Grey, a spokesman for the Army’s Criminal Investigation Division, told Fox News.

The Army is taking the allegations “extremely seriously,” Grey said, but so far, "there is no credible information to support the allegations."

Five suspects, detained in December, were part of an Arabic translation program called "09 Lima" and use Arabic as their first language, two sources told Fox News. Another military source said they were Muslim. It wasn't clear whether they were still being held.

Grey would not confirm or deny the sources’ information.

Now let's be real clear up front that investigators are not finding credible evidence to support the allegations. I therefore don't really want to discuss the plot itself, there may not be one. Further it is hard to complain about not being told about it until now (my first beef until I looked at it closer) because it would be a disservice to the men to smear them and ruin their name if there was nothing to it.

There is another issue here in my opinion, trust. That is trust of the Obama administration. They have been less than truthful with us to date on terrorism.

Look no further than the Fort Hood shooting. The first public statement by the Obama Justice Department was to assure everyone it was not a terrorist attack. It was a terrorist attack and I think they knew it at the time. Their announcement was nothing more than cover for Obama to keep him from having a terrorist attack on US soil. To date they are still not classifying it as terrorism, it's just a Muslim man that hates America associating with an extremist Imam that hates America and then going out and killing Americans. In other words, not terrorism.

They refuse to call the Little Rock recruiting center shooting terrorism. The Justice Department has brought terrorism charges but Obama refuses to use the phrase itself.

More than that is the sloppiness in which they approach terrorism investigations. Fort Hood was an incredibly ridiculous investigation before and after the shooting. The panty bomber investigation was a mess before and after the incident.

So, the simple question is: do we trust him on this?

Do you feel safe?

I "trust" that these islamic "gentlemen" have been fully mirandized, but that's as far as my trust goes.

I trust that the BO administration is mishandling terrorism just as badly as everything else.

DaBlade, no doubt they have a lawyer

Cube, at least as badly

If CBN had not reported that the five were Muslims I have no doubt that we would have heard nothing about it and the terrorist would go scot free. In fact they may do it anyway. It is time to purge the military and the commanders who allow such without reporting immediately and giving ALL the facts. Unfortunately that will not be possible until the Muslim loving POTUS is removed from office.

I agree with DaBlade and Ticker … and I always do what Cube tells me.

This issue goes far beyond the question of whether radical Muslims have infiltrated our military. We’ve shown this is true on numerous instances. The issue goes beyond whether radical Muslims have infiltrated our Congress and government bureaucracy. But we cannot assume the radicalization of all Muslims, nor behave toward them in a manner that discriminates on religious grounds. Make no mistake that radical Muslims know this as much as I do. Make no mistake —radical Muslims are instructed to capitalize on American democracy to escape accountability for their acts of terrorism.

And yet … our state department continues to grant these people access to America in droves, so that they can come here to kill us, to disrupt our way of life, to test our resolve, to infiltrate, to over-populate. And if this were all a figment of my imagination, everyone could shake their heads and suggest I get some mental health intervention … but the plain fact is that it isn’t my imagination. It really is happening … and this administration, nor the Bush Administration, nor the Clinton Administration, nor the first Bush administration has had the balls to take actions that will best protect America and its people.

Why is that? Why did George Bush hold the Saudi King’s hand like a fairy or errant child? Why did Ă˜bama bow before his Majesty? These men sold their country out. They sold us out. And we the people, whose country and government this is, have not demanded better of them. We have assured them —through our silence —there are no consequences for bowing to a foreign head of state. Based on all I know, we all better start thinking of a new Muslim name for ourselves and plan to force our women to wear Burkhas … because we surely lack the manliness to say what needs saying; we seem incapable of acting responsibly for our country. Overall, we probably don’t deserve America any more.

Mustang out

Ticker, agreed. Who was going to report it MSNBC?

Mustang, I agree.

First, we are funding terrorism by buying oil from the ME. We have no one with the stones to cut them off on this.

I also agree with the fact that no one has really stood up to the ME. W showed good promise at first but I found myself being disappointed when he left office.

I think we need to kick any Muslim with any radical leanings out of the country. Let them scream about tolerance - from home.

We shouldn't be surprised. Obama said the following:

I will not only end the Iraq War, but deemphasize the war on terrorism.

And, no, I don't feel safer. He's ended the CIA program that successfully prevented another 9/11 attack on American soil.

Wordsmith, we have only been lucky over the last year, nothing else.
