The Troops Intrude On The Obama's Vacation

Vacationing President to Press: "We're Buying Shrimp, Guys. Come On."

As the president walked around the restaurant, some cordoned-off reporters shouted out to him questions, including one about the war in Iraq. Next Tuesday night, the president will deliver an Oval Office address at 8 pm ET, in which he will mark the occasion of the withdrawal of US combat troops from the country.

But the president was in no mood today to discuss the issue with reporters in that setting. He ignored questions for a bit, then turned to the reporters.

"We're buying shrimp, guys,” he said, smiling. “Come on."

One, not me mind you, but one other person could say that they should be left alone while on vacation. Even the President needs a break right?

The obvious problem is, when is a reporter supposed to ask them a question? They're always on vacation.

That is what I was thinking, Chuck, when are they not vacationing? I get the feeling they plan to travel and play as much on our dime as they possibly can. They know that once they leave the WH there will be no money to be had so they had better squander it while they can.

You must know the press was thrilled anyway... he smiled at them.

You beat me to the punch, Chuck! LOL!

I agree that a vacation should be just that, but when you are on number SIX for ONE YEAR...

FRENCH ROYALTY. Could they be ANY MORE out of touch?

And the "we're buying shrimp, guys"? I live in the midwest, away from seafood country. Most people around here buy shrimp or any fish, for that matter, as a luxury/treat. In fact, some of the only meat around here that is affordable right now is the high fat hamburger, or pork, as we live very close to Eaton. Lots of pig farming there...

Sheesh. I'm rambling.

I posted about the shrimp comment too and also about the ginormous ammount of lobsters the Obamas are ingesting at warp speed.

Meanwhile, we're expected to tighten our belts and
'get moving'.

Yeah. I would make a comment about the size of the FW's backside, but that would be catty... meow.

Cube, one less lobster maybe?

Valid point, perhaps he thinks questions are beneath him. In a way it's nice to see the msm that carried him into the white house is getting this cold shoulder. I know they won't learn from it, but at least it's good to see them choking on it.

MK, they'll come running back to him
