Quote Of The Week

"Meg Whitman could be described as 'a political whore.' Yes, that's an accurate statement,"

"The very troubling issue that is embedded in that call is what prompted the description of Meg as a 'whore' is basically that she sold out Californians for an endorsement and a $450,000 independent expenditure campaign,"

California NOW President Parry Bellasalma

Could NOW have any less credibility?

We have a successful business woman, a woman running for Governor of the largest state in California, and she is called a whore by the campaign of a male opponent. Not only does NOW not condemn this but it actually comes out in defense of the offender and throws their support behind him.

I am not shocked though. This is not the first time we have seen this on the left.

We have seen individuals and groups that claim to fight for the civil rights of minorities turn a blind eye to incidents of blatant racism directed against political opponents. Like NOW, they have not only tolerated this racism but have rushed to the defense of the offender.

Just more hypocrisy from the left.

I remember when NOW was first founded. At first, I thought, "Good." Of course, I quickly changed my mind as I saw that NOW is nothing more than another bunch of leftards.

The hypocrisy of NOW is phenominal. It is so great it could collapse in on itself and become a black hole.

AOW, they haven't been for women's rights for a long time

Brooke, one could hope

I have to agree with Always On Watch... when NOW first came on the scene, and yes I am dating myself, it was a force for something that to me was necessary.

Remember, go back far enough and we had no female police officers, no fire fighters, no female you-name-it; women were secretaries, nurses and teachers. Period.

Me, I happen to think society is better for the women who have been added to the work force thanks to the women's movement, but I'm not grateful for the hijacking of it by the lesbians.

As far as the whore comment goes, it is illustrative of the leftist turn of the feminist movement that they can sit there and listen to this word being uttered by Governor Moonbeam's staff, and not be rattled enough to come to Whitman's defense.

They aren't the National Organization For Women, for many years they have been the National Organization for Liberal Women. Conservative women need not apply.

No, NOW has zero credibility. They're sure as hell not for women... they're simply pathetic.

Z, very good point

Cube, I agree completely that women's rights had a long way to go and have come a long way. I will even concede that groups like NOW have had some part in this. You are right though, they do not represent all women.

Karen, they are for the right kind of woman.
