And So It Begins

Critics Slam Obama Administration for 'Hiding' Massive Saudi Arms Deal

But some critics are questioning the deal, and the stealthy effort by the Obama administration to avoid a more probing congressional review by notifying Congress last month, just as members were headed home for the November elections. Congress had 30 days to raise objections -- a review period that concludes Saturday. With most members leaving Washington today, any significant effort to block the deal appears dead for now, officials said.

First, do you like how ABC has "hiding" in quotation marks? No bias there.

Get used to this folks, this is just the beginning. Obama's solution to a divided Congress will simply be to bypass them. There will signing statements, Executive Orders, policy decisions by agencies such a the EPA, TSA, Homeland Security, etc.

Much of it will be illegal but that's not a problem, he will likely be out of office long before most of the decisions can be heard by the Supreme Court which means he will have his way. Other decisions will simply stand either partially or fully.

The next 2 years will certainly be interesting.

Ugh. More of BHO's bowing to the Saudis.

Obama will rule by back room deals and fiat for the next two years, to be sure!

Exactly what I was saying in regard to the chances of the Dims losing the Congressional elections. You only left out one item, judicial diktat, which we have already begun to see ala DADT.
Another Soso plan in action when plan A (Obama being able to smooze everyone into falling for his BS) failed.

AOW, remember the fuss over Bush and the Saudis with the ports? Hear the crickets chirping?

Brooke, Chicago, here we come

Ticker, good point with the judicial weapons. It is likely he would lose a lot of these in SCOTUS but the far-left lower court judges will keep it tied up for years.

He is counting on the lower courts to keep his agenda in place while it takes it's time to be heard in the SC.By that time the damage will have been done.

Bill Clinton pushed through a massive arms deal for Croatia (to help it repulse the Serbian occupation and invasion). It was specifically illegal. Not a peep from the liberals.

But the liberals sure screamed when Reagan pushed through his "outlawed" package to help Nicaraguans stop the Soviet colonialists.

Ticker, agreed. He is also hoping he will get to replace one of the conservatives on SCOTUS. Not likely but...

Dmarks, good point. The Dim Congress spent a lot of time and drug a lot of good people through the mud over that. Hmm...
