Have A Happy Memorial Day

My tribute to the troops this year is a little different.

I want to do a follow up on a blog I did a couple of days ago.

A veteran was told by an apartment complex to remove his American flag. He refused, it made it into the national media, and then onto the internet. The management company was forced to relent and allow the flag.

Wisconsin Army Veteran Allowed to Keep Flag on Display

A Wisconsin Army veteran -- who faced eviction this week for flying the American flag -- will now be allowed to keep the flag up for as long as he wants.

Under mounting nationwide protest, Charlie Price, 28, of Oshkosh, Wis., and officials at Midwest Realty Management struck a "mutual agreement" that allows the veteran to continue displaying the patriotic symbol, according to a statement posted on the company's website on Thursday.

Randy Rich, the apartment complex's property manager, told that Midwest Realty Management received nearly 4,000 e-mails and thousands of phone calls in connection to the controversy.

A Facebook group created by Dawn Price, "Freedom to Display the American Flag," had roughly 2,000 members on Wednesday. As of early Friday, that number had grown to more than 44,000.

I salute Mr and Mrs Price for standing up for their rights to fly the flag and all of the Americans who stood up and said they were not going to tolerate this.

We are seeing this more and more lately in which conservatives are taking a stance against anti-Americanism and fighting it wherever it is.

I can think of no more fitting tribute to those that have given their lives defending America than to have the Americans they were defending take up the fight in their absence.

Note: I am away until Monday and am putting my blog on moderate. I will have limited internet time so please do not feel slighted if I do not respond to comments right away. Have a safe, reflective, and pleasant holiday weekend.

Only An Insurance Company Could Come Up With This

Family asked to pay for car damage after dog run over

A car insurer has asked a Canadian family to pay for repairing a broken bumper after their dog was struck by the vehicle and died, local media said Thursday.
The traffic accident occurred in March while Jake, a 12-year-old yellow Labrador, was out for his daily stroll around a quiet neighborhood in Aurora, Ontario, north of Toronto.
Kim Flemming had let the dog out when she arrived home from work. Moments later, a man knocked on the door to say a car had run over Jake.

"I got to the road and he was dying," Flemming told the Toronto Star. "He died in my arms."

Two months later, the family received a bill in the mail for 1,732.80 Canadian dollars (1,648.95 US) from State Farm Insurance.

The letter said Flemming had been found responsible for damage to the vehicle. "As such, we are looking to you for reimbursement," it reportedly stated.

State Farm spokesman John Bordignon told the Star: "They could have made sure their dog wasn't free on the roadway."

A local bylaw requires pets to be on a leash when off the owner's property, but the Flemmings said Jake had become accustomed to roaming outside the family's home.

State Farm was not immediately available for further comment.

"We've lost a member of our family but we're supposed to pay for the damage to her bumper? That's just wrong," daughter Katherine Flemming said.

I put insurance company executives on the bottom rung. The only thing below them is lawyers, down on the floor in the muck.

Pass This On

Wisconsin Veteran Must Remove Flag After Memorial Day, Wife Says

An Army veteran in Wisconsin will be allowed to display an American flag until Memorial Day, but the symbol honoring his service in Iraq and Kosovo must come down next Tuesday, his wife told

Dawn Price, 27, of Oshkosh, Wis., said she received a call from officials at Midwest Realty Management early Wednesday indicating that she and her husband, Charlie, would be allowed to continue flying the American flag they've had in their window for months through the holiday weekend. The couple had previously been told they had to remove the flag by Saturday or face eviction due to a company policy that bans the display of flags, banners and political or religious materials.

"It's basically an extension so we can fly the flag on Memorial Day," Price told "It does need to come down after that."

Charlie Price, 28, served tours of duty as a combat engineer in Iraq and Kosovo, his wife said. To honor his eight years of service, she began decorating their apartment during Veterans Day in November. An American flag topped off the display, she said.

I have nothing to add to this except to say it's horseshit.

Pass it on. If your on Facebook, add this woman. Do what you can to stop nonsense like this.

Feds Issue Terror Watch for the Texas/Mexico Border

The Department of Homeland Security is alerting Texas authorities to be on the lookout for a suspected member of the Somalia-based Al Shabaab terrorist group who might be attempting to travel to the U.S. through Mexico, a security expert who has seen the memo tells

The warning follows an indictment unsealed this month in Texas federal court that accuses a Somali man in Texas of running a “large-scale smuggling enterprise” responsible for bringing hundreds of Somalis from Brazil through South America and eventually across the Mexican border. Many of the illegal immigrants, who court records say were given fake IDs, are alleged to have ties to other now-defunct Somalian terror organizations that have merged with active organizations like Al Shabaab, al-Barakat and Al-Ittihad Al-Islami.

In 2008, the U.S. government designated Al Shabaab a terrorist organization. Al Shabaab has said its priority is to impose Sharia, or Islamic law, on Somalia; the group has aligned itself with Al Qaeda and has made statements about its intent to harm the United States.

In recent years, American Somalis have been recruited by Al Shabaab to travel to Somalia, where they are often radicalized by more extremist or operational anti-American terror groups, which Al Shabaab supports. The recruiters coming through the Mexican border are the ones who could be the most dangerous, according to law enforcement officials.

Okay, someone explain to me why these dumb-asses aren't getting it. The federal government will issue this terror alert but cannot seem to understand the importance of protecting the border.

Does anyone else get this?

The Capitol Of The Free World

It's not unheard of for Vice President Biden to get lost in the moment, but during a speech earlier this month to the European Parliament his flattery of the host may have gone a bit overboard, ceding Washington, D.C.'s role as the world's center of liberty.

The U.S. vice president, opening his address in Belgium, argued that Brussels -- considering its rich history and abundance of international institutions -- could well be the "capital of the free world."

He suggested that Washington, D.C., his home, is undeserving of that title -- notwithstanding its wealth of global organizations and the countless international summits that take place there.

"As you probably know, some American politicians and American journalists refer to Washington, D.C. as the 'capital of the free world,'" Biden said. "But it seems to me that in this great city, which boasts 1,000 years of history and which serves as the capital of Belgium, the home of the European Union, and the headquarters for NATO, this city has its own legitimate claim to that title."

While I do think he is an idiot, I don't think he misspeaks as often as people say. He may not say it as delicately as some would like but I believe he is often saying exactly what is on his mind.

These people are embarrassed by the US and want the rest of the world to take over our responsibility as the model of freedom.

What Do You Think About This?

The Next Bailout: $165B for Unions

A Democratic senator is introducing legislation for a bailout of troubled union pension funds. If passed, the bill could put another $165 billion in liabilities on the shoulders of American taxpayers.

The bill, which would put the Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation behind struggling pensions for union workers, is being introduced by Senator Bob Casey, (D-Pa.), who says it will save jobs and help people.

As FOX Business Network’s Gerri Willis reported Monday, these pensions are in bad shape; as of 2006, well before the market dropped and recession began, only 6% of these funds were doing well.

Okay. I know the easy answer is "Hell no" but before you answer, think of who this is really benefiting.

The men and women who earned these pensions will be the ones getting screwed.

What are your thoughts? Should we do this? Why is it our problem? Just curious as to what everyone else's thoughts are.

Quote Of The Week

"ICE has the legal discretion to accept or not to accept persons delivered to it by non-federal personnel,"...."It also has the discretion to deport or not to deport persons delivered to it by any government agents, even its own."

Janet Napolitano on ICE.

So in other words, the Obama administration can effectively decide to ignore federal law on immigration.

Why did she say this? It is a new tactic of the federal government on the immigration law in Arizona. They are saying that they simply may do nothing with the illegals immigrants arrested under Arizona's law.

How do you like that?

This Needs To Be A GOP Commercial In The Fall

We have the Democrats in Congress standing and applauding the Mexican President attacking Arizona.

Yes, you read that right - members of the Congress of the United States of America giving a standing ovation to a foreign president attacking one of our states. WTF.

And there in the back is the Speaker of the House and the Vice President of the United States standing with the rest of them.

It's time to retake Congress and start looking at impeachment of both Obama and Biden.

Quite frankly, this is nothing short of treason.

Has Anyone Here Read This Bill?

Napolitano Admits She Hasn't Read Arizona Immigration Law in 'Detail'

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano admitted Monday that she has not read the controversial Arizona immigration law even though she's gone on television to criticize it, and continued to assert that it was "bad law enforcement law."

The admission comes after Attorney General Eric Holder, who earlier warned the law could create a "slippery slope" toward racial profiling, told a House committee last week that he had not read the bill either. On Tuesday, State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said he too had not read the bill, even as he defended diplomatic official Michael Posner for comparing the law to Chinese human rights violations.

So, they are all against it and they will tell us why as soon as they know what it says. Any questions?

What Do You Think About This?

In an interview published by Spanish language newspaper La Vanguardia (that we translated), Allen says “I am pleased with Obama. I think he’s brilliant. The Republican Party should get out of his way and stop trying to hurt him.”

But wait - there's more!

The director said "it would be good…if he could be a dictator for a few years because he could do a lot of good things quickly."

So, what do you think? Should we get out of Obama's way so he can get some really good stuff done?

And what about that whole dictator thing? Think that's a good idea?

I mean, it's working so well in Venezuela...

Quote Of The Week

"People that are here, who are law abiding, are hardworking, been paying their taxes, have an opportunity to get in the back of the line, pay a fee and begin the process of legalization,"

Rep. Raul Grijalva, D-Ariz.

I have been doing this quote of the week for about a year or so and this has to be one of the dumber ones I've posted.

The sad thing is, this idiot doesn't get it. In their mind illegals, if they haven't committed murder or another crime, are law abiding citizens.

This is exactly why we will not have immigration reform in this country. People like this cannot seem to acknowledge that what the immigrants are doing is illegal.

This Man Needs An Ass-Beating

Dad Forced Naked Son, 9, Into Oven in New York Home

A nine-year-old boy was forced naked into an oven by his father at the family's townhouse in New York after rummaging in his dad's wallet, reported on Friday.

The incident happened in the Graniteville neighborhood of Staten Island at about 9 p.m. ET Wednesday, according to a spokesman for District Attorney Daniel Donovan.

The boy was put in an unlit oven by 6-foot-3 James Moss, 52, before being forced to hold his hands over an open flame on the burner for two minutes, stated court papers.

The child, who was treated for second and third degree burns at Staten Island University Hospital in South Beach, was hit with a spatula, smacked on the face and dragged across the floor by Moss, according to police.

Moss was charged with second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child and was remanded to Rikers Island, New York City's main jail complex, after he failed to post a $15,000 bail or bond.

I hope this man gets a long time in prison and I hope he spends that entire time getting his ass whipped.

This is evil.

I sit here and I think of this. He made a naked child crawl into an oven. He made him hold his hands over an open flame (he almost certainly had to hold them, a 9 year old would not do this on his own). He drug him across the floor. He hit him with a spatula.

All because he went through his wallet. No, wait, that part is irrelevant. It doesn't matter what the kid did, he didn't deserve this treatment.

This was not abuse, this was torture.

Give this man life, put him in general population in the most over-crowded under-funded hell hole prison available, and wish him a good long life. This child spent time in hell, let his dad do his time now.

My bet is that the hardened criminals in a place like this can put this dude to productive use.

This Is Becoming A Common Theme

Holder Admits to Not Reading Arizona's Immigration Law Despite Criticizing It

When asked by Rep.Ted Poe, R-Texas, how he could have constitutional concerns about a law he has not read, Holder said: "Well, what I've said is that I've not made up my mind. I've only made the comments that I've made on the basis of things that I've been able to glean by reading newspaper accounts, obviously, television, talking to people who are on the review panel...looking at the law."

This man is a lawyer. He's the Attorney General of the United States. He forms his opinions by watching news accounts of the issue at hand. Any questions?

There's A Simple Solution To This

Illinois School Nixes Basketball Team's Trip to Arizona Over Immigration Law

Parents in Illinois are outraged over a move by a local high school to scrap its girls basketball team's trip to Arizona over the Grand Canyon State’s new immigration law.

The Highland Park High School varsity basketball team has been selling cookies for months to raise money for a tournament in Arizona.

Now, after winning their first conference title in 26 years, the girls are being denied the opportunity to play in the tournament due to uncertainty over how a new Arizona law that makes it a crime to be in the country illegally will be enforced -- and because the trip “would not be aligned” with the school's “beliefs and values,” Assistant Superintendent Suzan Hebson told the Chicago Tribune.

This parent summed the whole thing up very well.

“The school has sent children to China, they’ve sent children to South America, they’ve sent children to the Czech Republic, but somehow Arizona is more unsafe for them than those places,” he said.

“The beliefs and values of China are apparently aligned since they approved that trip,” he added.

So there you have it - the practices of China, forced abortions, totalitarian government, and suppression of virtually every freedom known to man is not in conflict with this schools values but a state in the US attempting to prevent people from illegally entering the country, bringing drugs with them, killing American citizens and law-enforcement personnel, and sucking our economy dry is.

As the title says, there is a simple solution to this - recall the school board and replace it with one that will clean house of these anti-American, criminal-supporting bastards.

Been A Little Busy Last Couple Of Days

First, I woke up yesterday morning with a wet foot - my waterbed had sprung a leak. I have been trying to deal with it for the last couple of days.

First I patched the old mattress. When I was filling it I lifted the edge and there was water underneath the mattress, there was more than one leak. That was last night, too late to go get a new one.

I finally got out today to get a new one after work and I am filling it right now.

Now tomorrow morning I get to go testify in a case from the ER.

Bottom line, I'm a little busy. Will be back around hopefully tomorrow night.

What Do You Think About This?

Comedy Central developing Jesus Christ cartoon

Comedy Central might censor every image of the Prophet Muhammad on "South Park," yet the network is developing a whole animated series around Jesus Christ.

As part of the network's upfront presentation to advertisers, Comedy Central is set to announce "JC," a half-hour show about Christ wanting to escape the shadow of his "powerful but apathetic father" and live a regular life in New York City.

What are your thoughts on this?

Is it time to go out and commit senseless violence in protestation of this depiction of Jesus? I mean, it's works for the Muzzies. Have a little riot protest, burn some buildings, kill a few people, and the rest of the world pisses it's pants and apologizes for bothering them.

Is it getting past time for conservatives to band together and start boycotting companies like this? Maybe companies and cities/states that boycott Arizona?

Quote Of The Week

"It's disrespectful to do it on Cinco de Mayo," said Jessica Cortez, a Live Oak sophomore. "They can be a patriot on some other day. Not that specific day."

I realize this is a sophomore in high school, probably 15 or 16 years old, so she I do not want to attack her. The reality is though that this girl was raised to be this way.

We have been hearing nonsense like this more and more lately from Hispanics. Maybe they simply need to leave if they are not Americans.

That's all I have to say, I'm getting sick of this shit.

Enjoy Your Trip Down The River Tom?

While Oil Slick Spread, Interior Department Chief of Staff Rafted with Wife on "Work-Focused" Trip in Grand Canyon

Though his agency was charged with coordinating the federal response to the major oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Department of the Interior chief of staff Tom Strickland was in the Grand Canyon with his wife last week participating in activities that included white-water rafting, ABC News has learned.

Other leaders of the Interior Department were focused on the Gulf, joined by other agencies and literally thousands of other employees. But Strickland’s participation in a trip that administration officials insisted was “work-focused” raised eyebrows among other Obama administration officials and even within even his own department, sources told ABC News.

Strickland, who also serves as Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks, was in the Grand Canyon with his wife Beth for a total of three days, including one day of rafting. Beth Strickland paid her own way, Obama administration officials said.

The Stricklands departed for the Grand Canyon three days after the leaks in the Deepwater Horizon pipeline were discovered. Ultimately, after the government realized that the spill was worse than had been previously thought, officials decided that Strickland was needed in the Gulf so Strickland was taken out of the Grand Canyon by a National Park Service helicopter.

One government official, asking for anonymity because of the political sensitivities involved, told ABC News that some Interior Department employees thought it was “irresponsible” for Strickland to have gone on the trip, given the crisis in the Gulf, which was fully apparent at the time he departed for the Grand Canyon.

When asked about Strickland’s trip, Interior Department press secretary Kendra Barkoff told ABC News that “the federal government has been all over this issue from day one in a unified coordinated response.”

Nothing to see here folks, move along.

Sure, it's a "unified coordinated response". At least with the staff that could be bothered to address the issue.

I will give credit to ABC for airing this. With that said though, think you'd be hearing more about this if it were Brownie white water rafting with his wife during Katrina?

More Racism From Our schools

Michigan Elementary School Principal Investigated for Blacks-Only Class Trip

An elementary school principal in Michigan is under investigation for authorizing a field trip last week for 30 black students to meet with an African-American rocket scientist. Students who are not black were excluded from the outing -- a possible violation of a state law that bans racial favoritism in public schools.

"The district is investigating the allegations of violation of the State of Michigan Proposal 2," a spokeswoman for the Ann Arbor, Mich., school district told "There was no ill-intent or malice in the principal and teachers planning this field trip," she added.

The principal, Mike Madison, who is black, said the trip was part of an effort to close the achievement gap between black and white students. But some parents whose children were not included say it clearly was illegal.

The controversy began last week when the 30 students, members of an African-American academic support group, were taken to hear the rocket scientist, Alec Gallimore, speak at the University of Michigan, where he is an aerospace engineering professor and propulsion lab director.

This is a 5th grade class in which they separated out the black students and took them on the field trip and left the other children behind. This principle needs to be fired but he won't be.

For one thing, Ann Arbor is almost as liberal as a city like San Francisco. They're are simply all nuts there.

If anything, this dude will get promoted.

What I am really waiting for is the cries of racism for these parents questioning why the school would do this.

When is this racism going to end?

Where Is Bill Clinton When You Need Him?

FBI Awaits Lab Results on White Powder Sent to Arizona Governor's Office

Law enforcement officials are awaiting lab results on a white powder that spilled out of an envelope addressed to Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer on Tuesday. The discovery of the powder briefly closed the State Capitol in Phoenix and sent Hazmat teams scrambling.

State police, Capitol police and the FBI are continuing to investigate after Phoenix's Capitol Tower was placed on lockdown for about an hour after a staffer opened the letter in the governor's offices there, the Arizona Republic reported.

A spokesman for the FBI's field office in Phoenix said a laboratory run by the state's Health Department has conducted tests on the white powder. He could not confirm whether the envelope was hand-addressed or contained any note or threat in addition to the substance. No one was sickened by the powder.

The incident has heightened tensions in Arizona, where protesters have targeted Brewer since she signed a controversial immigration bill into law last month.

Brewer has become the law's symbolic stand-in, widely vilified during pro-immigration protests that hit a peak on Saturday, the annual celebration of May Day. Some demonstrators in Dallas carried signs depicting Brewer in Nazi uniform with her arm extended in a stiff Nazi salute, the Associated Press reported.

Isn't this exactly what Clinton was talking about when he said the rhetoric on the right could turn into violence by some followers?

Oh, wait, this is different.

In this case, someone on the left actually committed a violent act because of the rhetoric coming from those on the left.

One Creepy Little Dude

Ga. Man Charged With Biting Eight-Year-Old Girls

A Georgia man is facing misdemeanor battery charges after investigators say he allegedly bit two eight-year-old girls -- one on the hip and the other on her calf, reported Tuesday.

Gordon Kent Nelson, 44, from Cumming in north Georgia, turned himself in on Tuesday morning, Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton said.

Nelson is charged with biting the girls on two separate incidents; one in March and the second in August 2009.

In 2009, the victim was an overnight guest of Nelson’s daughter in his home. In the most recent incident, the victim was the daughter of a female friend of Nelson. The alleged attack happened in the friend’s home when Nelson was alone with the girl, police said.

The sheriff said neither of the girls required extensive medical treatment. One was bitten above the hip and the other on her left calf.

Nelson is being held without bond pending a first appearance court hearing.

I think I know why this man bit the second girl, because the father of the first girl didn't knock his freakin' teeth out.

Just a guess.

What Do You Think About This?

States want to share patient Rx use to curb abuse

LOS ANGELES – On his night shift in a busy emergency room, Dr. Jacob Khushigian inevitably finds a few patients more likely to be hunting for drugs than medical attention.

The guy who claims he has severe abdominal pain doesn't grimace when sitting up. A woman who recently moved to the area fails to disclose she sees a doctor elsewhere. An ambulance patient complaining of a sore leg and back doesn't reveal she was turned away by another hospital.

There was a time Khushigian's hunches took weeks to confirm and required phoning or faxing the attorney general's office to obtain a patient's prescription drug information. Nowadays, a computer helps him catch cheaters. But it can only reach so far.

While a state online drug database went into effect last year to thwart addicts who bounce from doctor to doctor to feed a habit or make a small fortune peddling meds, there's now a push to extend it beyond state lines to snare so-called doctor shoppers and curb drug abuse.

So what do you think? Is this okay? Where does the common good meet patient's rights?

"It will be up to each of you to make sure that the young people, African Americans, Latinos and women, who powered our victory in 2008 stand together once again,"

Barrack Obama

I guess middle age white guys like me have no choice but to vote for a Republican.

How can anyone not find this racist?

Or, what about this?

"It will be up to each of you to make sure that the older people, white men, who powered our victory in 2008 stand together once again,"

Anyone have a problem with that?

The New John Edwards?

PRESIDENT OBAMA has been caught in a shocking cheating scandal after being caught in a Washington, DC Hotel with a former campaign aide, sources say.

And now, a hush-hush security video that shows everything could topple both Obama's presidency and marriage to Michelle!

A confidential investigation has learned that Obama first became close to gorgeous 35 year-old VERA BAKER in 2004 when she worked tirelessly to get him elected to the US Senate, raising millions in campaign contributions.

While Baker has insisted in the past that "nothing happened" between them, the ENQUIRER has learned that top anti-Obama operatives are offering more than $1 million to witnesses to reveal what they know about the alleged hush-hush affair.

Let me say right up front that I have no use for the Enquirer. Although, quite frankly, the bulk of the "respectable" media is getting closer and closer to the tabloid style reporting and disregard for the truth that the Enquirer employs.

Further, because of the lack of integrity of the Enquirer, I have to see a lot more than this to believe the story. Not to say that with Obama's skill at lying and his narcissism I would have trouble believing it's true.

The one thing I will say in their defense is they have put together a fairly good and detailed story here. This isn't the usual whackjob "My baby is an alien" story they typically run. But I still remain skeptical for now.

With that said, it would be incredibly amusing to me if the Enquirer scored another scoop on the media.

Finally, it will be interesting to see how the media treats this story. If this is true, how will they get Obama out of this one?
