Election Panel Dismisses Complaint Against SEIU, Clears Way for Union to Amass War Chest

Despite a finding by the Federal Election Commission's general counsel that the Service Employees International Union violated election law when it required local affiliates to contribute to its political action fund, the FEC's full board nonetheless quietly voted to overrule its staff attorney and dismissed the original complaint -- clearing the way for the union to squeeze its locals to amass a $9 million war chest for the next election.

Moreover, the group that filed the complaint, the National Right to Work Foundation (NRWF), didn't receive a full explanation of the FEC's decision in the case until after 111 days had passed, ensuring that its right to file an appeal had lapsed.

They are handing down a ruling and then not giving the losing party to the case a right to an appeal.

This is not an American model of justice, it sounds eerily familiar to the justice systems in Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, etc.

Castle Running A Write-in Campaign, What Would The Result Be?

There has been talk about Mike Castle running a write-in campaign against Christine O'Donnell.

What do you think would happen with this?

Would he be able to win? I don't know that anyone has ever won a write-in campaign for the US Senate. I want to say it hasn't been done but am not sure. At the least it would be a very rare occurrence.

Would he give the state to the Democrat Chris Coon?

Would he give the win to the Republican Christine O'Donnell?

The real question is who votes for him? Does he split the GOP or the Democrat vote? Are there enough conservatives in Delaware to elect O'Donnell?

Rasmussen puts the race at 49% for Coons and 40% for O'Donnell. What is important to note from this poll is a lot of Castle voters said they would vote for Coons or no one. Are they part of the 9% Coons lead?

Has The Media Dropped It's Pretense Of the Importance Of The Truth?

I know we talk about the notion that the media is dishonest, lie by omission, distort, etc. The question is though, are they really at a point in which the truth has become irrelevant?

Think back to the McCain campaign in which the NYT accused him of having an affair. An accusation that was never substantiated and was denied vehemently by all involved. Now maybe he did have an affair, he would't be the first politician to do this. The point is, isn't there some burden of proof here? Should they be able to run a story that they cannot support?

Go back further to the George Bush 2004 campaign and the CBS Vietnam War story. This was not only a complete fabrication but it appears by all evidence that the producer knew it wasn't true.

Now we come to Boehner. Did he have an affair? I don't know and quite frankly would not be shocked, he's a politician. What if he didn't though? Do you think the NYT will care? Do you think they will care if this is untrue and ruins an innocent person's (the supposed mistress) life?

Finally, what about the notion of them waiting for the right moment? Does this once and for all dispel the myth that they are unbiased?

Yet More Double Standard From The Left

This article is about someone from Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss' office posting a comment on a gay blog: "All faggots must die".

The Senate Sergeant at Arms is investigating and Chambliss is taking responsibility for the actions of his staffer, releasing a statement that this kind of behavior is intolerable.

So, basically Senator Chambliss is doing the right thing. He does not need to resign, he does not need to lie prostrate on the Capital steps and apologize to all Americans, gay or straight, for the actions of an idiot on his staff.

I do say though that I am not opposed to him firing the culprit, not for his stupidity and ignorance, it is not only not a crime but is protected speech under the first amendment. (I realize this goes against conventional wisdom, most people believe only the left have free speech rights in the US). No, this person needs to be fired for cruising blogs and leaving comments while on our dime and using one of our computers to do it.

This part of the article caught my attention though:

Jervis said he expects some staffer will be fired, but he stressed that all he'd like to hear is an apology. He acknowledged that comment pages are characteristically offensive.

"No one expects the Internet to be candyland, particularly on gay blogs," he said.

A separate comment posted on his website Tuesday evening advised Sen. John McCain, who opposed the "don't ask, don't tell" repeal, to "f--- off and die" by having a heart attack.

Jervis said that comment was "not cool." But he called the gay slur "an example of the tenor of what's going on inside the offices of the GOP, where a staffer thinks it's hilarious to do something like that."

So, let's be clear that we understand. A poster wishing for the death of a US Senator, calling him by name and listing a preferred form of death, is "not cool". But a gay slur calls for an investigation by some computer geeks and the Senate police and not only a demand for an apology but a subtle hint that maybe they should be fired?

Basically this reporter was reporting on the Gulf oil spill and pointed out that Obama was the highest recipient of BP campaign funds ever. He was called into the bosses office for the remarks, an argument ensued, and he was fired for insubordination and misconduct.

The insubordination you could almost get, he was arguing with the boss. But what was the misconduct? Speaking out against Dear Leader?

Personally I'm not a big fan of cheer leading, especially in girls this young. With that said, it is good to see parents getting their kids involved in something and not letting them sit around and be couch potatoes. Finally, even as mean spirited and stick in the mud that I am, these kids are kind of cute trying to do sports like cheer leading, football, etc.

This girl is getting more than exercise though, she's getting an important life lesson - people are idiots.

A Michigan couple is crying unsportsmanlike conduct after their 6-year-old daughter was removed from a flag football cheerleading team because they complained that one of the team's chants was too risqué.

Jennifer and Duane Tesch, of Madison Heights, say their daughter, Kennedy, was unanimously voted off of the Madison Heights Wolverines flag football cheerleading team during a team meeting Tuesday night. The meeting was held to discuss concerns the Tesches voiced last month regarding one of the team's cheers:

"Our backs ache, our skirts are too tight, we shake our booties from left to right."

But instead of seeing their concerns with the cheer resolved, the Tesches saw their little girl booted from the team.

This is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. My wife and I have gone to many school sporting events from elementary school through middle school to high school and college.

There have been times in which we have been a little disturbed at what they have the younger girls do and say while cheer leading. We were at a middle school event in which the girls were doing cheers that would have gotten a second glance in high school.

I find it sickening that some adults want to sexualize young girls.

You go to your local Walmart or Target and see some of the clothes they sell for young girls. Some of these clothes will not be going out of the house on my daughter when she is in high school.

My wife is particularly upset with pants and shorts for young girls that have writing on the rear end. (Note to anyone reading this - looking at my young daughters behind, writing or not is a poor choice if I catch you).

I am not sure what is causing this. Whether it is a push by the left to finish degrading any morals our society has left. An attempt by mothers to recapture lost high school years and living through their daughters. Inattentive parents.

Which ever it is, it does not fly in our house.

I salute these parents for taking a stand for their daughter and society. I feel for this young lady who has to see the ugliness of adulthood so young. To the parents that voted this child off of the team, shame on you. Grow up and act older than the girl you booted.

Tea Party-Backed O'Donnell Upsets Castle in Delaware GOP Race

Take a look at the above article. The GOP leadership is angry that O'Donnell won their primary and is currently saying they are not going to support her in the general election. The Republican Senate Campaign Committee has said it will not support her, either with money or endorsements. The RNC has effectively said the same thing.

One simple question. Who the hell do they think they are?

Think about this for a minute.

Forget Christine O'Donnell.

Forget Mike Castle.

Forget the Tea Party.

Forget the election itself.

Ultimately this isn't about any of that.

Republican voters in Delaware have voted and said that they want Christine O'Donnell to represent them in the general election and the GOP leadership has said that they will not acknowledge their wishes. She won 53% to 47%.

The arrogant sons of a bitches.

I realize that ultimately Obama and the rest of the socialists of the Democratic Party are the real foe here and we cannot lose sight of this. Further, we do not need to start a civil war in the party right now before an election.

After the election though, we need to deal with our internal demons. It is time to clean house in the GOP.

O'Donnell Takes Early Lead Over Castle in Delaware GOP Senate Contest

Fox is actually reporting that O'Donnell has now beaten Castle.

This will help avoid confusion in the November general election. The voters in Delaware would have gone to the polls and saw Mike Castle and Chris Coons and would have been unable to pick out the Democrat and Republican.

Castle is a pro-abortion, pro-gun control RINO. O'Donnell is the Tea Party favorite. She may not win and this primary may cause the GOP control of the Senate but I personally am okay with that.

I have said in the past that we have to hold our nose sometimes and vote for a candidate that we do not entirely support because the Democratic alternative is worse. The obvious analogy is John McCain v Barrack Obama. McCain was not my first choice but he is a damn sight better than Obama.

In this race though, without knowing much about Coons, it's not impossible that the Democrat could have been the more conservative choice between him and Castle.

Sometimes holding your nose is okay but if you have to hold it so hard you stop breathing it's unproductive.

It is likely all who are reading this have heard about the Pastor in Florida that was threatening to burn Korans in protest.

In my mind the man sounds a bit like a nut, partly over the issue of burning the Koran, partly because of statements he has made since then.

My question though, is what do you think about it?

The pastor, sane or not, has created a stir.

We have the Secretary of Defense, Bill Gates condemning it.

We have the Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton condemning it.

We have the media condemning it.

We have Muslims oversees rioting and burning American flags in condemnation. Death to America.

One would think they would have been equally outraged by this:

Do you think this was even covered by the fringe media in the US?

I don't want to debate the validity of his remarks, (insert shameless promotion of blog here) that's for my post tomorrow.

It's actually the second sentence that I am posting this for. American's, meaning conservative American's, have gotten to a point in this country in which they are being cowed into silence by the PC police.

We have a news media in the US, and around the world, that has become nothing more than the PR arm for leftist groups such as the Democratic Party, ACORN, George Soros backed hate groups, the ACLU, La Raza, on and on.

While they are not specifically left wing, add Islam to the protected class.

Step out of line with a statement about any of the protected groups and the person uttering the offending remark is castigated in the news as a right-wing fanatic.

This man for instance, will be portrayed as committing a hate crime against Muslims.

My take on it is that while he likely targeted Islam specifically for his protest, it is almost more a push back at the PC laws that govern our daily lives in contemporary American society.

Bibles are burned by Muslims, the American flag is burned by leftists and Muslims, we put the crucifix in a beaker of urine. These are all celebrated by the fringe media as expressions of freedom of speech. Burn a few pages of the Koran and it's a hate crime.

In this circumstance, I support his actions and his statement. Political correctness is killing us, it's about time someone fought back a little.

One Of The Images I have Been Unable To Shake

I remember lying on the couch 9 years ago this morning and watching the planes crash into the World Trade Center. Obviously that image will always be with me.

One of the images I have been the most haunted by though is the image of people jumping to their death from the towers. The fear these people must have been feeling to take that plunge. The fact that they lived for seconds as they fell.

I see this picture and I feel angry all over again.

Now we have a group wanting to build a mosque within feet of where these people landed on the ground at the base of the WTC towers.

They are killing these people all over again.

First, this is what happens when he goes off message from his teleprompter. He needs to read the damned thing and stop winging it.

The point is though that it seems as if our President is losing it.

This is not the comment of the leader of the free world, this is the comment of someone sitting in a dark room talking to himself, rocking back and forth, and railing against unseen enemies.

One wonders what the rest of the world thinks when they see this. Does it instill confidence when the President of the United States, the defender and policeman of the free world, is exhibiting such petty and paranoid behavior? Do they worry that this man literally has his finger on the button?

More importantly, is this a sign of things to come?

What will he be like when he faces actual political adversity? What will he do when the GOP retakes the House and at the very least ties up the Senate with the Democrats holding a slim majority?

What will he do when the hearings start? How will he react when the GOP starts asking questions that should have been asked long ago? Questions about his relationship with ACORN. Questions about why he let 3 New Black Panther Party members harass voters at the polls and drop the charges against them. Questions about firing a Justice Department investigator that was investigating a friend of his wife's.

What will he do when he actually has to work with the GOP on a bipartisan basis instead of having show conferences to attempt to pretend he is willing to work with them?

There's a part of me that thinks this comment was humorous, just another example of Obama's idiocy and petulance.

At the same time, I think the comment may be a little disturbing and possibly a harbinger of things to come.

Democrats plan political triage to retain House

The thinking by the Dems here is that they will perform triage on the races and pull funding for lost causes and move it to races that are more competitive for them. The hope is they can save just enough seats to save the House.

What do the "lost causes" do? Do they roll over and play dead? Take one for the party? Or do they keep their money and fight on?

A new poll set for release tomorrow has 50% of Ohio voters wishing that Bush were still President to 42% saying that things are okay just fine with Obama.

Think this will have an effect on the mid-terms?

My guess is that we could be looking at a slaughter of biblical proportions.
