Quote Of The Week

"Could we just have some birth control for a while?"

Cathie Black, Chancellor, New YorK City Public Schools

This was Ms Blacks' solution to school overcrowding in New York City.

To be sure that no one misunderstood, she followed up with this as a solution.

"many Sophie's Choices" -- a reference to the book in which a mother in the Auschwitz death camp is forced to decide which of her two children will live.

Can this whack-job get any further left?

This has been an underlying theme for a lot on the left for decades, solve the world's supposed over crowding problems by eliminating people. Many of them have not been real selective on how we accomplish this goal. I have thought for years that this is one of the reasons abortion is pushed by many on the left.

There is also another issue here that maybe should cause some concern. It is a little tenuous but not too hard to make a case for. Racism.

As if abortion could get any uglier, there has always been a tinge of ethnic cleansing to it. It is no secret that abortions are performed on a significantly disproportionately higher amount of minorities. Planned Parenthood has been caught in numerous stings agreeing to take money to pay for abortions only for blacks.

There are a lot of minorities in the New York City public schools.

We have had a lot of incidents of racist comments from the left in the last few years.

Is all of this a coincidence? Maybe. I'm not willing to accuse her of this, just food for thought.

This is where I would typically call for the school board to fire this horrible woman but, considering just how far left New York City is, the sad truth is that they may have found the perfect person to lead their schools.

Wow.

I can't believe that someone in the education field said this.

I can.

I can hear her voice right now.

Coming from a prog, I am not all surprised by this. I am even less surprised that she wasn't ridden out on a rail after being tarred and feathered, as my parents and grandparents would have done.

Population control? What happened to the government staying out of my uterus?

Sophie's Choice? Do we now get to decide which one of our children will get an education and which one won't?

This is beyond despicable!

Her parents would have done well to have practiced a bit of the birth control she so embraces.

Am I surprised? No, for this same community that has been targeted for elimination, through birth control aka as abortion, which certainly would be called genocide by the Democrats if such were occurring in another country such as the Sudan , or Uganda, has elected the most genocidal President to ever hold office. This President has extended this genocide to the rest of the world through his executive order undoing what former President Bush had accomplished by stopping funding for abortion in foreign countries.

His Global Poverty Bill which languishes in Congress thankfully, shares the same UN ideas that to eliminate poverty, global warming, among a few things should be accomplished by such ideas as expressed by the so called educator as well as the POTUS.

So no surprise here.

AOW, I'm with LA - it is likely happening more than we think.

Brooke, notice that as of now she still has a job

Ticker, I have always said that all of these nutjobs that want fewer humans on the planet are more than welcome to volunteer to make a start of thinning the herd.

Well, when I was taking classes in education, such statements would never have been uttered aloud -- even if my liberal profs thought the same as this woman.

Absolutely, Chuck-- abortion has more than just a tinge of ethnic cleansing too-- it was the whole reason why people like Margaret Sanger supported it in the first place. Too many Catholics, Jews, and blacks, you know.

And yes, I can definitely believe than an "educator" said this. Education is a den of Marxists vipers. I know.

Chuck said...

AOW, I don't think all educators are like this. The teachers in our district tend to run right of center. It is not uncommon in today's public schools though

Karen, agreed

It's a rare moment of honesty Chuck. Lefties will often pine out aloud about birth control, but it's not always when they just come out and openly call for 'problems' to simply be lined up and taken care of.

My sister-in-law is a teacher and I can't imagine her making such a statement in private much less in public.

Where is the pink slip for this idiot? I'd like to Sophie Choice her out of a job.
