Economic Harassment?

I don't know what happened here and, quite frankly, if the coach did make racially charged remarks he should be fired. If, for no other reason, that he will have lost all respect of his players.

One thing caught my eye though:

The superintendent said Jason Popp can return to the bench next year after he undergoes sensitivity training.

The state-ranked Richmond Heights team was threatening to boycott the rest of its undefeated season if their coach remained in place, Fox8.com reported.

Tuesday night's game was postponed after Superintendent Linda Hardwick met with parents over the alleged abuse, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

A group of parents had sent a letter to Hardwick (Superintendent Linda Hardwick) complaining Popp (coach Jason Popp) used "inappropriate language, as well as racial and economic harassment,"

Economic harassment? When did this become a protected class? Someone help me. I can't seem to keep up with who is being protected now.

If the players are revolting against the coach, he’s history.

I am surprised there is a culture of expletives within that district’s sports program. Don’t misunderstand; I fully expect filthy language from the students, but not from the coaches and teachers.

I'm with you, Chuck. What does economic harassment mean? Does he yell at the ones who can't afford new cell phones or bling?

There is one group that is not protected and that is straight-white-Christians, but the PC Thought-Police are not sure about east-asians and Orthodox Jews either.

More PC BS, economic harassment my a$$.

Mustang, I agree. If the coach is swearing at his players - don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Cube, right

Shoprat, welcome back friend. We are getting to be about the only unprotected class.

Ticker, right

From the story I just read, it's difficult to determine what the racial harassment was, much less the economic harassment. Minus the expletives... what is wrong with telling a basketball team "these people expect you to play basketball?"

Sounds like a fair statement to a basketball team that is striving to be a champion, one that may not be playing or practicing up to its capabilities. This is a whiny bunch of kids who have gotten it from their whiny parents. All you have to do is demonstrate the willingness to create a mob and and threaten to walk off of the job and you get attention.

The Obama organizing union mentality is becoming part of out culture like it is in Europe.

LA, the problem is that the article does not say what he actually said. There doesn't seem to be a lot of dispute about the fact that he made racist comments, except from the coach...

I have no patience with "sensitivity training."

AOW, we had to go to it at work. Imagine a bunch of inner city ER staff at sensitivity training. We were touched.

Looks like the coach told a black kid that if he didn't work hard he'd be back living on Superior St? ...that's what I got from one of the quotes. Wow, I wonder if that kid will EVER RECOVER :-) I guess THAT was "economic harassment" because maybe Superior St isn't too SUPERIOR?! heh
The expletive stuff..well, that's how Americans speak these days, sad, isn't it? And I don't admire a coach or believe he should use that kind of language if he did....

I liked some kid named London FUlton, Jr. who said "whatever was said, let's get our butts on the court and play ball" BRAVO. They're 15-0 and the season might be over for them for THIS? wow

Yeah, the sensitivity training thing sent a chill down my spine, as it always does... just SOOO Orwellian.

This is the kind of crap that happens when you let girls into positions of power.

Z, I would have this coach's but if he were swearing at my kids. The irony is that this is one of the reasons society is like this

Karen, I am not a fan of sensitivity training either. I won't touch the girl power thing however ;)

Sensitivity training. Ugh! What a waste. If this coach goes he will nod and parrot back whatever they tell him, and it will change nothing.

What on earth is economic harassment? If that's a thing, can we get the federal govt for going after the rich with disproportionate taxation?

Chuck said...

Brooke, agreed. We need to target the libs for their class warfare.
