What Do You Think About This?

What a cracking outfit! Lady Gaga turns up to Grammys in an EGG (but she wasn't Born This Way)

What do you think? Can this chick get any freakier?

There's a part of me that finds this insane and ridiculous. Another part of me is annoyed at how very self-absorbed this woman is.

What do you think about all of it?

Her hijinks are questionable, but I find her music enjoyable.

She's an entertainer not an intellectual. Entertainers are allowed to be shallow as long as we remember to ignore their so-called thinking.

What little music I have heard sounds like a Madonna clone. She certainly knows how to outrageously market herself like Madonna. But based on what i have heard, she wouldn't be nearly as popular without this attention seeking behavior.

In my day we had KISS with the make up and the pyrotechnics. But where are they today, musically? Does not all of their music sound alike? It does to me. it did not evolve, it did not grow with its audience.

My prediction is, it will not with Lady Gaga either. Once the public tires of the stunts, the music is all she will have left and if it's still a cheap replica of Madonna, what good is it?

Cube, never really listened

Shoprat, good point

LA, look at bands that did not rely on gimmicks - the Stones, Aerosmith, etc. Still around

I'll Take Reba any day.

I guess this answers the age-old question, "which comes first, the meat suit or the egg".

Ticker, I'm with you

DaBlade, nice

As long as people continue to buy her cds, go to her concerts, and find entertainment in her antics, I imagine she will continue her odd behavior. The more outrageous "stars" are these days, the more popular they become. It gives us a clear view of the mentality of our society now, doesn't it?

Hayden, dead on (and sad)

Its all about outrageous behavior and less with talent. The very name "Gaga" says a lot. We've always had a few like that around though - remember Tiny Tim? Butt ugly, long stringy hair, talked like Glenda, the good witch of the North and sang only that one insipid song on the ukulele. He became a celebrity just because he was so odd for the times.
Gaga is just basically a rehash of Madonna for the current generation of youngsters. Madonna is "old" and a has been now. I bump into kids who don't even know who she is. Fame is fleeting and life is but a vapor on the earth.

Alligator: Not that I care much, but just for the record, Gaga, nee Stefani Germanotta, is an accomplished pianist and song writer. She is a talented performer who has played a classical piano concert for the Queen of England. Why she markets her talent with excessive histrionics and drama is beyond me.

Alligator, Elvis was controversial

Cube, interesting - I didn't actually know that
