What Do You Think About This?

This is about Planned Parenthood's challenge to South Dakota's new abortion law.

"Under the pretext of ensuring the patient's decision to have an abortion is 'voluntary, uncoerced, and informed,' the law has both the purpose and the effect of severely restricting access to abortion services, and violates patients' and physicians' First Amendment rights against compelled speech and patients’ right to informational privacy,"

Read the article

First of all, do you like the quotation remarks around voluntary, uncoerced, and informed? You can just feel the disdain they have for the notion that a woman would be informed about an abortion so that she can do it voluntarily and without pressure from a "counselor" at a PP abortion mill women's resource center.

I digress though. This is what caught my eye.

violates patients' and physicians' First Amendment rights against compelled speech and patients’ right to informational privacy

Is this in your copy of the US Constitution? What the hell does it even mean?

Read the article, do you see anything that compels speech or violates their privacy?

The closest I see is making a case that physicians are being compelled to discuss what happens during an abortion. .

We restrict freedom of speech all of the time in health care though.

I am very limited on what I can discuss about a person's records or even what I can view if I do not have a need to.

We have limits on what we can say in the ER without running afoul of federal equal access laws.

We cannot use English, the national language of the US and my native tongue, with a patient if they do not understand it, we have to get an interpreter.

I am limited on what I can talk to vendors about because of Medicare/Medicaid anti-kickback statutes.

I am limited on what kind of language I use and jokes I tell because of sexual and racial harassment laws.

Will we repeal all of these with a court ruling against the SD law? These are all examples of "coerced speech".

I give you Amendment I, The United States Constitution

Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

What are your thoughts? Do they have a case? Will they find a judge liberal enough to insert it in there? Keep in mind, the courts took the above sentence and found separation of church and state.

Quote Of The Week

"Any responsible campaign would at the very least start asking around about potential challengers. In fact, this is exactly the kind of thing that the media should be doing right now,"..."Never has a field of presidential contenders gotten so little real scrutiny from the press corps."

Obama administration staffer.

I realize this is the dreaded "unnamed source" but it certainly sounds like a quote from one of the current White House denizens.

The funny thing is, they really do seem to believe it is the GOP candidates that get a pass from the media.

The World Of Leftism

We have all talked about the latest hate-filled diatribe from Ed Schultz of the fringe network MSNBC.

Schultz does this on a regular basis. This is why MSNBC decided to bring the hammer down and suspend him for a week.

What a joke.

The same MSNBC fired Don Imus for calling a women's basketball team a group of nappy ho s in jest.

Imus was joking (he was of course an idiot), Schultz was not.

Imus was fired, Schultz was not.

Imus attacked one of the groups on the left's protected list, Schutlz attacked a conservative.

But, wait, there may be more to this than we thought.

It turns out that Schultz simply may have been misunderstood.

"Yeah, but you know when you hear the word 'slut' – I mean I hate to even say it on our air, to be honest with you – but there are mixed interpretations about the word

Randi Kaye, CNN

Is it possible he actually meant this as a compliment and he was unfairly targeted?

All joking aside though, the entire leftist ideology is simply a lie and this is only the latest example.

Where is NOW on this? Why haven't we heard from them? Would they be siting on the sidelines if it were Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh calling Hillary Clinton a slut?

What if Joe Scarborough, MSNBC's token "conservative" had been the one calling Kirsten Powers a slut?

What ever happened to MSNBC's outrage over the tone of politics after the Gifford's shooting? They were attacking the right with the same venom they accused the right of using. The same attacks that they were claiming (wrongfully so) led to the shooting of Gifford.

We could go on all day about this.

Where is the left on the freedoms Obama has curtailed? The same left that spent 8 years bitching about Bush wanting to know what library books terrorists read.

Where is the left on all of the troops dying in Afghanistan under Obama's watch? The same left that couldn't stop talking about Iraq?

Where is the left now on oil prices? The same left that blamed these same prices on Bush. Now it's the fault of speculators, the Middle East, and oil companies - the President can't control the price of gas.

The bottom line? Every thing that the left stands for is a lie. Actually, let me clarify that, they don't stand for anything.

Their entire focus is on power. I am not critical of this in itself because attaining power is the point of politics. The right does it just as much as the left.

The difference is, the left is too willing to compromise any shred of integrity they may have to get power.

I have argued this before and I will say it once again, the left lacks a moral compass. They embrace abortion on demand, homosexuality, transvestitism, among others. When your entire philosophy is anything goes, when they lost that sense of morality, then it became easy to justify the means for the end.

This is why it is easier for the left to win elections then the right. The right at least makes an attempt to stick with their principles.

Myself, I would rather sleep at night than win.

How about you?

One last point. The leftist media has ignored the Ed Schultz incident. If it had been Rush Limbaugh calling Kirsten Powers a slut, the far-right mouth piece of the Republican Party Fox News would have been out front leading the condemnation of him.

Leftist Civility

Unhinged: MSNBC’s Ed Schultz calls Laura Ingraham a ‘right-wing slut'

“And what do the Republicans thinking about?” Schultz said. “They’re not thinking about their next-door neighbor. They’re just thinking about how much this is going to cost. President Obama is going to be visiting Joplin, Mo., on Sunday but you know what they’re talking about, like this right-wing slut, what’s her name?, Laura Ingraham? Yeah, she’s a talk slut. You see, she was, back in the day, praising President Reagan when he was drinking a beer overseas. But now that Obama’s doing it, they’re working him over.”

MSNBC is the network that screamed the loudest about Palin and Rush after Congresswoman Giffords was shot. I have no doubt Mr Schultz will be fired for this.

Math, AP Style

N.Y. Dem Wins House Seat in Heavily GOP District

Read the article.

This is written in typical AP style, not overtly slanted, just enough to get their point across.

Reading through it one sees that this election was won solely on the issue of the Republicans ripping Medicare away from seniors, leaving them to die from lack of medical coverage. This, of course, is different than the Democrat's Obamakare leaving them to die from lack of medical coverage based on decisions by the local/state death panel.

I digress though, this post is about math.

What the AP glossed over the fact that the Tea Party candidate, Jack Davis, was a fraud, and drew off 9% of the vote. Davis is a 3 time Democratic candidate for congress and avid Obama and Pelosi supporter. The AP not only did not report this, they described him as appearently legitimate.

A wealthy tea party candidate, Jack Davis, took 9 percent.

The above was their entire discussion about Mr. Davis.

Now the math. The count was Jane Corwin (D) 47%, Kathy Hochul (R) 43%, Jack Davis (fraud TP) 9%.

What do you think the real story is here (other than there are a few really stupid conservatives in the district)?

Quote Of The Week

Barack Obama, May 20th, 2011.

Obama made this statement during remarks to the CIA on capturing UBL. This must be a fairly important statement because he repeated it 35 times during his remarks. Analysts are still pouring over the statement to see if there is a deeper meaning to his repeated use of it.

Read the rest of the remarks here.

This Worked Out Well

WikiLeaks bolsters argument for ‘enhanced’ interrogation tactics

Read the article

Whatever else this bastard was trying to do, I believe one of his main goals was to embarrass George Bush. At the very least, he was trying to undermine the war on terror.

Turns out now that he may be giving his supporters ammunition.

This guys even dumber than I thought.

George Soros ACLU At It Again

ACLU Threatens N.J. High School With Legal Action Over Graduation at Christian-Owned Site

Read the article.

This High School has been using the same auditorium for 70 years, a building owned by a Methodist group. One person was offended last year so the ACLU is suing because of the building's religious symbols.

I will give someone in the school credit for having the stones to tell the ACLU to go to Hell, they say they are going to go ahead and have graduation there anyways.

The real issue here though is the cost to the school district. My suspicion is that they would win the lawsuit but it will cost them. Money that could go to books on global warming and the grade school readers "Bobby Has Two Daddies".

The point is, this is economic terrorism practiced by other far left loons like the Rev Jesse Jackson. I read once where groups like this know they cannot win a lot of the lawsuits they file but they believe, rightly so usually, that the target of the suit will settle out of court for fear of public attacks.

If only the public knew what people like Soros and Jackson were truly up to.

Over 30 Major News Organizations Linked to George Soros

Think any of these news organizations are carrying the above story?

What Do You Think About This?

The Donald is out, thank God IMHO.

Huckabee is out, thank God again.

Gingrich self-destructed about 30 minutes after he announced so he's out, the body just isn't cold yet.

Ron Paul is still crazy so he's going nowhere.

Romney is still in, he raised 10 mil last night.

Mitch Daniel's seems like a potential winner but seems indecisive.

Pawlenty too.

Christie is playing hard to get.

We haven't heard from Jindal yet.

So, who is it?

Any thoughts? Will it be a dark horse we don't know about yet? Does it even matter yet?

Quote Of The Week

But he made that decision to go without telling Pakistan and that took some real courage, as much courage as our Navy SEALs did in pulling off a near flawless operation.

Wendy Chamberlain, President of Middle East Institute and former US Ambassador to Pakistan on CNN

Lifted shamelessly from I Hate The Media. A great blog, stop by and check them out.

Let's compare here.

The Navy Seals went to a foreign country half-way around the world into hostile territory and rappelled from a hovering helicopter in the pitch dark into a compound that was the residence of the world's most wanted terrorist. These terrorists have automatic weapons, bombs, and like to strap the bombs to themselves and die for their cause. When the helicopter came over the compound they jumped at a moment's notice.

Obama took intel that he only partially developed himself from a foreign intelligence apparatus that was established by the previous president. He deliberated for 16 hours and "slept on it" after knowing for months that it could happen. He then sat in an office surrounded by some of the toughest security forces in the world in one of the world's most secure buildings and watched the raid develop.

Okay, now that I see it written out, it is eerily similar.

This Is How You Like To See A Flag Burning

Angry Mob Chases Would-Be Flag Burner Off LSU Campus

Read the article

A student was going to burn a flag in protest. instead he decided to read a statement. When he stood to read the statement, he was chased off by a group of students.

What was this leftist genius protesting? Another student had been arrested for stealing an American flag from the LSU War Memorial and burning it, causing $7500 in damage.

Some will look at the actions of the crowd and condemn them. I question if they should have acted as they did, they were throwing objects at him.

With that said, people are getting tired of the anti-Americanism from the left.

I'm glad they ran the little bastard off.

While I'm writing this Michelle Malkin is on Fox & Friends discussing this:

Caltrans, court block town’s efforts to display the US flag

A private group in the small town of Orcutt, California wants to place a flag on land between a highway exit and a park-and-ride lot. The flag would be surrounded by five pillars representing each of the branches of the armed services. Caltrans, the California Department of Transportation, vetoed the idea because it is an "impermissible act of "public expression"".

Any wonder that people are getting frustrated?

What Do You Think About This?

Oregon Senate Approves Bill Targeting 'Suicide Kits'

Read the article.

Basically a woman in California is selling suicide kits that contain a plastic bag and a hose to connect to a helium tank. The person then rents a helium tank from a party supply store, hooks the hose up, puts their head and the hose in the bag, turns on the helium, and quite quickly loses consciousness and dies.

First of all, what a creepy lady.

To the point though.

I will state that I am against assisted suicide. Unequivocally, period, no discussion.

My question though is this - why are liberals so squeamish about their beliefs?

Oregon wants to have assisted suicide. They consider themselves progressive and, in my opinion, seem fairly arrogant about their enlightenment on the matter.

So, why the law against a mechanism for doing it?

I did some quick research on death by helium and, quite frankly, it seems like a fairly good death. Helium is lighter than oxygen so it quickly fills the lungs and displaces the oxygen. A person would likely pass out fairly quick because of the loss of oxygen. So basically you would rapidly drift off to sleep and proceed to die in a few minutes from oxygen depravation. You would be unconscious throughout.

So what's the problem?

Why not welcome this?

Why not allow home abortion kits?

I have always suspected that somewhere, deep inside, liberals know that a lot of their beliefs are full of it.

They consider themselves intelligent (I have always been confused as to why) and their beliefs are the reasoning of a rational person. When the belief is put into practice though, they have an issue.

Believe in "death with dignity" or the "freedom to choose", just spare them the details.

Why the resistance to talking about the bloody, barbaric details of abortion? It's not a baby they are killing, it's just a collection of cells that they are removing. Some of the more extreme feminists actually call it a parasite.

So the question is, why would someone give a blow by blow account of having a mole removed but not their abortion? Either one is just the excision of cells.

So, that is the question this week.

Why do you think this is an issue?

If they are so convinced they are right, why do they shy away from it? Are they worried about public perception? If their belief is right then wouldn't they want to bring the public to their side? Isn't education the best way to do it?

Why do they hide behind euphemisms if they are on the right side of the issue?

Quote Of The Week

"So when does Seal Unit 6, or whatever it's called, drop in on George Bush? Bush was responsible for a lot more death, innocent death, than bin Laden. Wasn't he, or am I wrong here?,"

Mike Malloy, radio talk show host

You may be like me and have never heard of this POS. Just more evidence that liberal talk radio is a failure.

Anyways, to the point. Calling for a former President to be shot. If something were to happen to Bush, would this POS be blamed?

No. Next question.

Give This Pilot A Cold One

It is likely not all people will agree with this but fortunately for me I don't care about stuff like that.

Muslim Leaders Say U.S. Pilot Refused to Fly With Them Onboard

Read the article

I say that this pilot shows a lot of stones. If Muslims do not want to be "discriminated" against, maybe they should help do away with terrorism.

There is one inescapable fact that they refuse to deal with, the vast majority of terrorism in the world in the last 40+ years has been from Islamic terrorists.

Who would you kick off a flight - a couple of dudes in Arabic attire or a little old lady?

Me, I'm a fan of racial profiling for terrorism. No apologies what-so-ever.

Finally, notice these men called CAIR from the airport as soon as they were kicked off the flight. Further, we have a college professor and an Imam. Any red flags here? Any thought that this may have been a set-up?

I was going to post on this, Columbia is giving their top journalism award to Al Jazeera English.

Yet Another Successful Leftist City

Report: Nearly Half Of Detroiters Can’t Read

Anyone else think it's not a coincidence that every city ran by the left is an abject failure full of illiterate, fatherless, high school dropouts?

They are in good company though:

“For other major urban areas, we are a little bit on the high side… We compare, slightly higher, to Washington D.C.’s urban population, in certain ZIP codes in Washington D.C. and in Cleveland,” she said.

What Do You Think About This?

There is only one real topic to talk about today - the death of Osama bin Laden, may he be frying in Hell already.

What do you think about it?

Capture or kill?

Treat his body "according to Islamic practice"?

Who gets the credit? Bush or Obama? Just the military? The investigation started 4 years ago but ended today.

Will this mean more violence? Or, will we be safer?

Share your thoughts.

Quote Of The Week

"You've got elderly people out there who can't get out there and do it,"..."They need a hand."

Kathleen Hensley, volunteer

This is a tale of two storms. Read the article at the above link about people volunteering in the south to help recover from the tornados.

Now flash back almost 6 years to hurricane Katrina.

This is a study on how people face natural disasters depending on how they were raised.

We have the people of the southern states that were hit with the recent tornados. They apparently were taught how to be self sufficient and given a sense of responsibility when they were raised.

On the other hand we have the people of New Orleans who were raised at the government teat and have a sense of entitlement. "Where's the government to take care of us?" the people and their leaders cried.
