What Do You Think About This?

Parents keep child's gender secret

No questions this week, the article speaks for itself. Take a look at it and share your thoughts.

Despite the fact that the parents meet most of the criteria for being idiots, the kid will eventually let it out. Just try to get a two year old to keep a secret.

Absurdly stupid and emotionally abusive, imo. They aren't freeing their children from gender roles, they're just imposing their own roles on them. They make a big show to encourage their sons to have "girl" interests, how do you think they respond when they show masculine tendencies? At best, I'm sure they simply ignore it. They're just conditioning their children to behave in a way that pleases the parents, and ostracizing them from society and other children in the process.

I thought about posting on this today, and I could not come up with descriptive enough language for this level of idiocy.

I'll bet these parents tell the kid that it can choooooose whichever gender it wants.

Abusive.

Of course, Brooke's right; these parents are just SO "Open minded" and CELEBRATE and EMBRACE EVERYTHING, so this kid will be enticed to be anything he/she wants to be! Or doesn't but feels coerced into being?
Chuck, I feel sick...and it's all your fault, I want you to know that and suffer just a little for it (smile)

That red-flanneled mommy probably voted for the Conservative Party, right? :-)

LA, I though about that

Katie, good point

Brooke, I think it's abusive also. It would be interesting to see what take the far left child protection agencies would have on this...

Z, that's the left - celebrate all of the diversity they believe in.

Don't worry, I make a lot of people sick ;)

These are not the first people to try and raise "genderless" children. And ultimately, those experiments fall apart. The kids end up being what they are genetically wired to be and the boys will gravitate towards toys like bucket loaders and the girls towards dolls. If not, then they usually end up psychological problems. Liberals are not only intent on restructuring society, they think they can restructure the human genome as well.

Many of today's' liberals rebelled against their conservative parents. I see young people who are rebelling against their liberal parents and becoming more conservative. The question is, will the change be broad enough, fast enough to turn our civilization around.

Alligator, the boy that "chose" the pink dress is on a path to having his head in a toilet in high school. The parents will then be confronted with the dilemma of standing by their child or forgiving the perpetrators because they would clearly be the result of a disadvantaged family life (in other words, not enough entitlement). The resolution of this dilemma will be largely based on the race of the perpetrators.

Actually, being a liberal is quite complicated.

"Witterick and Stocker believe they are giving their children the freedom to choose who they want to be, unconstrained by social norms about males and females."

Yes, and society will also make free choices about their confused children, unconstrained by this sort of parental stupidity.

"Like all mothers and fathers, Witterick and Stocker struggle with parenting decisions."

Funny how the stupid twirp who wrote that article wrote that, from what i read, they don't make any decisions, so what's the struggle for.

"This past winter, the family took a vacation to Cuba with Witterick’s parents."

That says it all doesn't it.

Very true Chuck.
However, they will find that life will be drastically simple under Sharia if they don't get a reality check.
