The Stupid Just Keeps Coming

"I've said time and time again, if the President gets up to August 2nd, without a piece of legislation, he should not allow this country to go into default. He should sign an Executive Order invoking the 14th Amendment and send that to all the governmental agencies for us to continue to pay our bills. He could do that with a stroke of a pen.

"We've seen many big things done in history that way. I've joked with my staff the other day, 'tele me what was the bill number of the Emancipation Proclamation.' It was an Executive Order. We integrated the armed services by Executive Order. We integrated public schools by Executive Order. Sometimes executives must order that things get done."

James Clyburn (Duh, SC)

Yesterday these dumbasses were saying the GOP was trying to set up a dictatorship. Today they want Obama to piss on the Constitution.

Also, notice everything he mentioned was race-based. Why is it that liberals always see the world through race?

"What we're trying to do is save the world from the Republican budget. We're trying to save life on this planet as we know it today."

Nancy Pelosi (Duh, CA)

Actually Bill Kristol said it best when he pointed out that the world is in a mess right now so saving it as it is today is not much of a goal. It may be telling though. Maybe the Dims want to preserve the status quo?

I can't facepalm hard enough to deal with these idiots, Chuck.

It's hard to even know what to say to such bold-faced ignominiousness.

The status quo for the democrats is continuing to spend on the kinds of social programs that will ensure a steady supply of new democrat voters. They will raise taxes to intolerable levels to achieve this goal.

They have no desire to cut anything but defense.

The GOP hasn't made their case clear enough and I fault them for not being more forceful in their arguments. Of course, the republicans don't have the media lapdogs on their side and it's hard to be make points when you're constantly running for cover.

Cube, cutting defense, or 'gutting it' as Paul Ryan says Reid's bill does, is dandy for the Leftwingers who still tell good Americans we're 'pants wetters' for even believing in bad Islamists!
They can't gut anything else because they will lose votes.
I'm thinking this will smash Republican hopes for 2012; though I'm beginning to see some polls showing that some of the Republican message is actually sinking in.

And John McCain, too, for that matter.

Sorry for my lack of response, I have been out of town unexpectedly.

Brooke, best thing to do is walk away

Cube, I agree that the GOP could sell this better

Z, Obama's RCP is slowly going south on this debt debate

AOW, a little redundant there ;)
