Barack Obama
Am I wrong. Isn't this kind of his job?

The way I think about it is this is a great, great country that had gotten a little soft, and we didn't have that same competitive edge we needed over the last couple of decades. We need to get back on track. But I still wouldn't trade our position with any country's on Earth. We still have the best universities and scientists and best workers in the world. We still have the most dynamic economic system in the world. We need to bring all those things together
Read them again and see the connection. There is a common phrase between them, in verbatim
over the last couple of decades
This isn't about stirring people to action. It's not a call to restore America to it's glory days. It's not even about America. Why would it be, he doesn't care about her?
It's about Barack Obama.
The exact phrasing is not an accident. It's just more of the, "these problems are not my fault, they are because of previous Presidents".
He can have his version. Me, I'll just look at his record.

But Chuck - It is impossible for
any President to not be dealing with the mistakes of previous Presidents.
don't you think?
With the exception of George Washington of course. :)
Sue, of course every President does. But every President before Obama also had to have accountability for what they themselves did in office. He does not seem to understand this. Nothing is ever the fault of Barack "all of our decisions have been the right ones" Obama.
So you all are going soft and fat, is that why he's proposing trillions more in free money, to get all you soft fatties to harden the F*** up?
Does he even know what his teleprompter is telling him to say.
In my view, Americans are indeed addicted to warm fuzzies. I see the problem all the time in education -- even among homeschoolers.
But the rest of BHO's comment? Well, it IS his job and the job of Congress to promote the free market system, the system that put America at the top of the world. Our free market system is being regulated to death! And the Obama administration keeps adding regulations, specifically, via the EPA.
Ugh. I feel sorry for the next president. Obama's mess is damn near incalculable, especially if, and God forbid, he gets a second term.
MK's comment is brilliant! LOL!
Mk, Does he even know what his teleprompter is telling him to say.
No
AOW, I think some have gone soft but who has made them that way? Maybe a little too long at the government teat?
Brooke, the next President may be set up for failure. This is the scenario: A Republican wins, cannot straighten out Obama's mess in 4 years, is castigated by the media and voted out
Obama is a socialist. He's not for helping business. He's for bringing this country down to the bottom and very successfully, I might add.
Many Americans have gone soft. They haven't had to toil for the fruits they enjoy, not like people had to do during WW II, the Great Depression and any number of other crises in the past.
Typically when pleasure and recreation become the major occupations of a nation, it is on its way out. History bears this out. That's where we are now.
Cube, socialism - communism? Tough to tell
Alligator, I tend to agree but a lot of this has been the fault of the government spoon feeding them
