Now This From The AP

I was reading the following article on Fox.

House lawmaker blocks $450M in US assistance to Egypt

Read the article.

It is a short one by the Associated Press about a Republican lawmaker, Kay Granger (TX), who was holding up the vote approving aid to Egypt over the recent embassy attacks by Islamic film critics.

This caught my eye:

More recently, demonstrators breached the U.S. Embassy in Cairo to protest an anti-Islam video

Where do I start?

"more recently"?

By "more recently" do they perhaps mean on 9/11? An attack on 9/11 is now relegated to "more recently" by the AP?

Also, not to be nitpicking, I think the term they are looking for is "overran". Breached seems like they were just inside the wall and the US forces held them at bay.

The real kicker though is obviously the bit about the film. The AP knows damned well that this has been determined to be a terrorist attack and not about the film. A film that it has been strongly speculated that none, or at least very few, of the protesters had ever even heard about.

Reality is that the AP has become state media. They are now getting their talking points from the Obama administration.

It seems to me that all of the mainstream media are state media. **sigh**

How about the ending?
Last December, Congress made foreign assistance to Egypt, including the military financing, contingent on a determination that the government "is supporting the transition to civilian government including holding free and fair elections; implementing policies to protect freedom of expression, association, and religion and due process of law."

Just like this country, where free and fair elections are held (as long as you don't have to prove who you are), freedom of expression (unless you upset obama by insulting mohammad), and of course religion, as long as you're not Catholic and refuse to fund Fluke's deviancies.

AOW, agreed

DaBlade, I agree on all points.

We did agree though at your blog that Jimmy Hoffa can still vote 37 years after his death. In my book that makes this quite a country. ;)

They're all lapdogs. I believe Z made a post about Pravda being alive and well here in America.

Brooke, no better than Venezuela, Cuba, China, or any other socialist/communist country

It's an election year, they can't make their boy look like the fool and disgrace he really is. Mind you, he does a good enough job demonstrating that all by himself.

As of today, the Obama administration is claiming they NEVER said the attacks were about the video.
